My Contribution to No on 8
In California, Prop. 8 would eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry.
Last night, my parents and grandmother came over for dinner. My dad (who's big into election issues, and always has been) asked if I had a chance to read all the propositions (there are 12). I said no, and my grandmother chimed in with the fact that she hadn't either, and didn't know when she'd find the time. (She is the busiest 86 year old in the world.) Reflexively, I said, "No on Eight!"
Grandma: No on Eight?
Robyn: No on Eight.
Grandma: Good. Now I don't have to look into that one.
