Ninjawords - WTF?
So, I'm working on work stuff, and I look up the term "color set" at dictionary.com. No results. So, I went to Ninjawords. It asks me , "Did you mean closet?" and then defines closet. Under the definition is an example of usage...
"the closet can be a scary place for a gay teenager."
I'm all for homosexuality. But the writer in me can't handle using a colloquialism here. It's a dictionary, not social commentary, and not comedy.
Why yes, I am frightfully into semantics now, aren't I?
ETA: This is THE ONLY usage example shown at Ninjawords. The colloquial should be included in the definition(s) and would be fine if an example of the literal meaning of closet (Put your clothes away in the closet) were used.
