Earlier today I was hanging out with some guys and one of them used the word "faggot" in that way that guys often do: just as a generic insult. Someone in the group pointed it out to him that it was kinda uncool to use that word.
He responded, typically, with "dude I'm not saying anything about GAY people, that guy's just a faggot."
So I chimed in, acting completely serious, with "Naw man, he's got a point. I mean, I call people niggers all the time. It has nothing to do with black people, some guys are just niggers, you know?"
It caused a hell of an awkward pause, but I think I got my point across.
