Sometimes you have to just come to the conclusion and realize that the answer that you are looking for is, "it just is." Period.

God doesn't *allow* these evil things to happen. He gave man free-will and humans make these decisions and cause evil to happen. God will give us the comfort to handle these evils, though.

Trusting God takes a lot of faith. When I'm wound tight as a clock and turn to God for answers and solutions and I want them RIGHT NOW, I'm reminded of a scripture in Psalms... "Be Still and Know that I am God."

I too know your feelings of question. I have come to the conclusion that God is almighty and can do great things, but that we as his children, must be given room to grow, make choices (both good and bad) and that evil exists just like God. Scripture tells us of the times yet to come. You know that they are not going to be good. However there will be good people who do good things just as there will be much evil. My great-grandmother died in 97 at the age of 97. She always wanted to live to be 100, but in the end gave up because it was just too hard and too much evil in the world. She said that if that was the way it was going to be, she did not want to see it. Her life spanned almost a decade. Just imagine the things she saw and experienced. She lived a very hard life and always kept her faith to the very bitter end. As a child, I remember her speaking of the end of our world as we know it. And as a teenage, I thought she was just old and biased. As a young adult, I began to think she was right. Now, I can see that many think every ( ... )
