You're unable to enjoy the original because the roleplayed version is so good?

Though whether that's entirely "good" is debatable.

I've heard it used that way also. Or that other roleplayed versions can't compare to a particular roleplayed version.

Example: Someone RPs from Twilight. They turn Bella and Edward into compelling, three dimensional characters. Do not have to be likeable, but at least compelling and with motivations other than Twu Wuv and does so such that the association is no longer with the Twilight canon but the RP versions.

RP partner/stalker revisits Twilight canon. Remembers how characters are flat and have no motivations.

Sadness.

but that doesn't really help and it misses the point entirely doesn't it
