I'm totally with you there. I was on my way to start my homework (reading Jane Eyre for my summer class) and I was gonna open the video to let it load up. Yeah...homework was thrown to the side when I saw the episode summary say "Ianto dies in Jack's arms".
I didn't even cry at the scene. I was more squeaking and whimpering in shock. The tears started to come when I was yelling at my parents about the unjustice of it all.
I won't be watching anymore either if Ianto doesn't come back. I fell in love with Ianto from his first moment on screen and the thought that he isn't coming back is just wrong. No one will watch a show about Jack and Gwen. What would they do? Stop a Weevil then have Gwen have another affair? I admit, I'm curious to see a Torchwood baby, but not enough to watch if my baby isn't there.
In a perfect world, there'd be a flash of light and Ianto, Owen, and Tosh would be standing there going "what just happened", then Janto kiss, and everyone lives happy-ever-after.
Probably won't happen.
What I could live with? IANTO COMING BACK! He's the one that brought out the human in Jack. He gave Jack a reason to come back after the Doctor (because he so totally added in "all of you" when he realized he was still in the dog house). Jack isn't Jack without Ianto. They need more time.
I said it over on another journal, but I'll say it again. I'm one of those fans that believe that Ianto had been dead in Cyberwoman until Jack gave him the good old Kiss Of Life. My theory is that when they were on Floor 13, Jack was already so close to death when he kissed Ianto that there was no energy to transfer. I can see him taking Ianto's body *sniff* and give him one more kiss, and then Ianto wakes up.
RTD can't be stupid enough to kill Ianto. There's a reason he didn't go through with it the last two times. Killing Ianto kills Janto and since that's what a majority of the fandom ships, if Ianto stays dead, the show won't survive.
I'm so upset even this morning. It's insane how upset I get over the death of fictional characters - last time I was this saddened, though, it was for Tosh and Owen... didn't think any show was going to be more painful than that, but I was wrong, and in the same show, too. Meh.
I'm really really trying to believe that there was a reason that RTD saved Ianto not once, but twice over the fun of this show and that he wouldn't kill him off now, but RTD is an evil bastard. This has been proven. I don't know if I trust him anymore.
Ugh, is it 5 o'clock yet? (around when I can watch it here in the U.S. lol)

And rant is over...for now.
