Some Days
Some days I want to quit writing for L5R. We work our asses off and sometimes it seems that all people want to do is complain... usually because the story didn't go exactly the way they wanted it to.
Could you picture somebody bitching and moaning because they didn't like the way their tv show turned out?
Oh wait... they do that. Ridiculous.
Like something or don't like something, but just remember that just because the writer decided to do something different than what you wanted them to do, doesn't mean they are bad writers.
Some days, rarely, I want to stop writing poetry. I suppose the side effect of being as public with my writing as I am is that it makes me open season.
I guess I just find it odd because I am in such a supportive community. The normal response if you don't like something in that world is not to attack. Praise what you like, leave what you don't for someone else.
Still, a conversation where someone criticizes my content is one thing... well, she was rude at first but it settled down to a fair discussion... turned into people who thought it was okay to start picking apart my poetry.
Sorry, I don't think that is okay. I would never dream of doing that to someone (who hadn't asked me to do so).
Whatever. It is what it is. I have walked away from the conversation because my next comment was not likely to be constructive. I have had to do that with L5R in the past. I will overcome. :)
