Below is a list of my favorite movies featuring costumed heroes:
TOP TEN (10) FAVORITE COSTUMED HERO MOVIES
1. "The Incredibles" (2004) - At the top of my list is this Disney/Pixar animated tale about a family of undercover superheroes, while trying to live the quiet suburban life, are forced into action to save the world. Created and directed by Brad Bird.
2. "X-Men 2: X-Men United" (2003) - In this second installment of the X-MEN saga, The X-Men band together to find a mutant assassin who has made an attempt on the President's life, while the Xavier School for mutants is attacked by military forces.
3. "IRON MAN 2" (2010) - This second IRON MAN movie, billionaire Tony Stark must contend with deadly issues involving the government, his own friends, as well as new enemies due to his superhero alter ego Iron Man.
4. "BATMAN BEGINS" (2005) - Christopher Nolan directed this reboot of how Bruce Wayne became his alter ego, the costumed vigilante Batman.
5. "SPIDER-MAN 2" (2004) - In this second SPIDER-MAN movie directed by Sam Rami, Peter Parker is beset with troubles in his failing personal life as he battles a brilliant scientist named Doctor Otto Octavius, who becomes Doctor Octopus (aka Doc Ock) after an accident causes him to bond psychically with mechanical tentacles that do his bidding.
6. "IRON MAN" (2008) - In this origin tale, wealthy industrialist Tony Stark is forced to build an armored suit after a life-threatening incident and ultimately decides to use its technology to fight against evil as Iron Man.
7. "KICK ASS" (2010) - Dave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan who one day decides to become a super-hero, even though he has no powers, training or meaningful reason to do so.
8. "THE DARK KNIGHT" (2008) - Batman is forced to deal with the chaos unleashed by an anarchist mastermind known only as the Joker, as it drives him to his limits.
9. "X-MEN 3: THE LAST STAND" (2006) - When a cure is found to treat mutations, lines are drawn amongst the X-Men, led by Professor Charles Xavier, and the Brotherhood, organized under Magneto.
10. "SUPERMAN" (1978) - Richard Donner directed this tale about an alien orphan sent from his dying planet to Earth, where he grows up to become his adoptive home's first and greatest super-hero - Superman.
