My last group with the challenge course was today. It was a perfect example of how every day is something new and different out there. I pull in a couple minuets before when I have to be there and I show up to find every participant with the group (all 36 O-teamers) waiting in the parking lot. We’re supposed to have 45 minuets to set up but because of a schedule mess up by the challenge course lead we had 0 time. AND the schedule for the day’s activities that we made was for a 2 hour group and these people were expecting a 4 hour day. Once again, it was our program lead’s fault so we had to deal. We winged it. It was a lot of fun. 4 hour low element comprehensive: my favorite kind of day. Oh yeah, a cable for one of our ground elements came loose, and eventually out, in the middle of the activity. I’m sure that put a lot of confidents in them to check out the high ropes.

It’s definitely a bummer that I won’t be able to work at the challenge course next year at all. I was trying to see if I could squeeze in Saturdays but that’s not going to work. It sucks that I have to give that up but its really cool that I got an internship with Lockheed Martin. I’m working with MEADS which will replace the patriot system. So far my work has been entirely on this 1000+ page document that lists requirements from the 3 countries, US Germany and Italy. Checking references for accuracy and looking out for things that seem incorrect. It’s boring stuff and all but it’s not that bad. Hour for hour, time goes by a lot faster then past jobs. Once I get my security clearance things might get a little more interesting. I’m not guna lie; I’m looking forward to working with classified information. My sponsor guy showed me around the classified floor the first day. He had to carry around this big red flashing lantern with a loud beeping alarm to let people know there was an unclassified person on the floor.
