Progress Report
Yes, progress exists. K couldn't make it today, but I still wanted to get my stuff out of the old office, so we went drove into Cambridge after dropping off S0 at school. While S1 toddled around Kendall Square with O, I packed up my stuff. However, I still need to go back to pick up a package that should be there on Friday.
I sent a note of my budgie sighting to the local birding mailing list, and, as a result, the bird is in a warm home now.
S1 successfully went diaper-free from mid-afternoon to the evening. Yes !
I upgraded this machine (the Underground Lair G3) to Mac OS 10.3, and, after dealing with problems I think were due to an incorrect jumper setting I set on a new disk drive I installed last week, so far, so good. It's a clean install on the new drive, so I haven't moved over my preferences and files, from the old drive, but it's pretty darn snappy, especially Apple's Mail program. If things look good for a few days I'll upgrade the iBook as well.
The job search is going slow but there's a least one opportunity that is likely. I think the reality of the pace of the search is starting to set in. And yet, so far, I've felt pretty busy !
