Title: Winter in Vancouver
Author: weight_of_wings (my writing LJ)
Rating: I'm gonna say PG-13 for implied naughtiness
Feedback? I would love it, thank you.
Alphabet Challenge Letter: S:Snow
Pairing: Jared Padalecki/OFC
Author's Note: This was pretty random, but I like it. I hadn't looked at my list in a while, and it had just snowed here in Chicago, so it seemed like a good idea. Written on my sick day from work lol. Also, I haven't written Jared fic in a LONG TIME and I miss it. :P

Liz woke up, finding herself alone in the large bed, which surprised her because Jared should be sleeping. He had filmed late the night before and had a rare day off today. Under normal circumstances he would be passed out until at least ten, but here it was, just about eight and his side of the bed wasn’t even warm. Groaning, she sat up in bed and shivered. Sometimes she wondered why, exactly, she moved to Vancouver. It didn’t matter that the love of her life was living here to tape his show; it was really freaking cold in winter.

Pulling on a sweater, she padded into the living room, assuming he’d be watching television with Sadie and Harley lying in front of him. She was even more surprised when she found the living room as empty as her bedroom. Frowning, she moved through the house, unable to find Jared anywhere. She was in the kitchen when she heard the dogs barking and Jared’s booming laughter.

Liz turned toward the window and saw Jared, Sadie and Harley running through the snow. Jared was throwing snowballs to the dogs who were trying to catch them. She laughed as Harley ran over to Jared and tackled him to the ground. She could see the pure happiness on Jared’s face as he wrestled with his dogs in the white powder that seemed to coat everything. She moved toward the door that led to the backyard and opened it, shivering again when the blast of cold air hit her.

Sadie took notice of her, barked once, and bounded over to the door, jumping up and placing her front paws on Liz’s chest. Liz laughed and rubbed the dog’s head affectionately.

“Go get her Harley,” Jared said, and the large dog made his way over in hopes of the same affection she had just paid to Sadie. The dogs ran off as Jared walked over to her and lifted her in a hug. “Morning,” he said just before his lips latched on to hers.

“Mmmmm…morning.”

The bliss lasted for just a moment before she found herself on her back in a pile of snow. Liz screamed loudly, the cold seeping through her sweat pants and hoodie. Jared laughed and she rolled over to find him lying next to her. Frowning, she balled up some snow and moved quickly to shove it under the collar of his jacket. He yelled, moving to pin her beneath his frame, but she moved too quickly. She laughed as he stood up to chase after her, the dogs weaving between them as they threw snowballs at one another. Their laughter rang out through the yard with the dogs barking along. It wasn’t long before Jared caught up with her and tackled her to the ground once more. He let out his best evil laugh, which was ruined by how breathless they both were from running around like idiots.

“Give up?” he asked, patting her cheeks with wet hands.

“Yes, yes! I give up!” she giggled, trying to push him off of her. She knew it was a worthless example; he was too tall for her to do more than budge him a few centimeters. Jared leaned down and kissed her slowly, his lips cold against hers.

“Good. How about we go inside and change,” he suggested.

Liz looked down at her clothes, which were soaked completely through. “Good idea.”

They went inside, their hands fumbling with wet clothing before they fell together onto the bed, intent on warming each other up.

When they emerged from the bedroom, Liz made them some hot chocolate while they curled up on the couch to watch a movie. In the end, she decided that winter in Vancouver wasn’t so bad after all.
