[When the video switches on it's shaking a little as its owner appears to be engrossed in a rather determined episode of scratching his back on a door frame, a happy little smile of bliss on his face. A bliss one might associate with scratching a persistent mosquito bite or patch of poison ivy.]
[He'd been itching a lot lately, and his joints have

Everyone...
[That... did not sound good. But at least it rules out the "joke" theory. He wasn't sure that that made him feel any better.]
But I just bought clothes. What does that have to do with this new 'epidemic' of body hair and random appendages? Besides, I spent most of what I had at the clothing shop already.
[Great, now he's confused again, which he attempts to hide behind a blink and a slight frown...]
You don't sound too good yourself, are you all right?

[Kefka would hide it, but what's happening to him is going to be visible soon enough...and that yelling earlier. Ow.]
Awful back pains.

Clothing sticking to people?
[Back to pacing and thinking out loud to himself. He hadn't realized he had stopped moving until his feet started walking again.]
Maybe it's not changing into anything... no, that's not right because it wouldn't explain all the discomfort... but the clothing sticking to people... it would rip, naturally, if their bodies were changing...
[Gods, this was bringing back thirty years of memories! His first limit break had been horrific, and now it was almost as if everyone else was suffering their own form of transformation. Finally he stops pacing to stand in the middle of his room. How long would this go on?]
Can you not take anything for your pain? Perhaps hold it at bay until we can figure out what is going on?

[He's all fingers right now, tapping on things and thinkthinkthinktrying to think--]
Ah, I don't use painkillers very much. I prefer not to use them.
[Because he doesn't trust them: either the makers or their effect. The magic's done enough to his body; he doesn't want to risk something going wrong with chemicals or magic.]
Reply
And some, it would seem, are having such a difficult time with whatever is happening to them that painkillers either don't work, or barely work at all.
[He frowns, what is that tapping noise he hears over the speaker?]
How do you deal with the pain then? Forgive me, but I'm curious...

Cefca shakes his head, shifting on the examination table. "Sensations feel numbed most of the time. Sometimes they pop and I feel everything, but I can't find a pattern to them yet."
Cid nods, takes a blood sample. "Your case is unusual. As the first Magitek Knight to survive--"
"--I need to check in and tell you what's going on so you can refine the process blah I know!" Cefca snaps. Cid blanches and Cefca rubs his temples. "I know, Cid. I'm irritable, nothing tastes anymore and I can barely feel anything either! I hate it! Let me get back to my job! I've told you everything I know, so go figure out what's wrong and keep your head hidden until you do!")]
[(The sword runs him through. Kefka steps back, staring down at Celes's hand, the hilt. He can feel it distantly, but more important in the rage welling up inside him, the blood, and she just stabbed him--)]I keep myself busy! If I'm not thinking about it, it's like it's barely there! It's still a horrible annoying awful pest, but ( ... )

That is a good way to deal with pain. Productive. I should like to employ your technique, unfortunately I end up focusing upon it. I, too, am no stranger to pain, and I find that I usually just dismiss it. Indeed, I tend to grow concerned if I am not in some sort of discomfort.
But I agree with you. This discomfort is unlike anything I have yet to experience, and I have a growing suspicion that it will get worse before it gets better.
[OOC: I'm sorry I took so long! Kefka's flashback(?) threw me a minute. I wasn't sure if it was something I needed Vin to react to or not! <3]

[Usually, funny, but Vincent seems like a useful ally and he's curious about why the chronic pain.]
And this stuff is unnatural! There's got to be something we can do!

Mmm, I do. [He grunts] Started when I was murdered, been going on for the last thirty-something years.
[Mutters wryly] But then I suppose it is to be expected if you transform into one of three different beasts or an arguable god whose only purpose for existence is to wipe out all life on the planet.
[Sighs] Needless to say, I usually just try and ignore it.
[And we're not going to touch the mental discomfort, no sense in turning this into a opera, yes?]
Pain is the one constant in my life, friend. And as for what's going on with the town... if there was something to do about it, I would certainly attempt to do my part. But no one appears to know anything, so all I can do is wait and see what happens.
[OOC: No worries *hugs*]

[No bones or anythi--wait.]
A god of what?
[This is relevent to his interests, tell him more, he is a god whose only purpose is to wipe out all life and finding another one would be wonderful, please and thank you.]
Xion and I are trying to figure out how to fix what's going on, so if you find anything interesting, tell us.

I was reanimated shortly after my body died from experimentation. It's... a long story...
[He catches the change in Kekfa's tone. Perhaps he knows something about it...]
Chaos. A demon-like god created by the planet whose destiny is to collect the lifestream; animate, inanimate... all, life. It is darkness incarnate; neither evil, nor good. It just is. A void, single-minded, driven...
[He is rather curious as to Kefka's interest in it though.]
I will be sure to tell you anything of importance should I learn of it, but I have yet to find anything. I should think that Dr. Crescent might be of more help than a former Shinra Turk turned lab rat. And who is this "Xion" that you speak of? That is a name I have yet to become familiar with.

And void, huh? [Boriiiiing. And I'm not like that at all! You don't have enough of a mind to be single-minded. Bite me! I ponder what is meant by 'darkness' in this case, given what the other meanings of darkness are in this place. Good point, Fiend.] Doesn't sound much like any gods I know. In my world, they were more...human. None of this darkness and light shenanigans. What sort of darkness do you mean?
[Gods, he could use some gods.]
I think this is magical in origin, not biological, and anything you can tell me about your symptoms will help. My specialty's in magic. And Xion's the young lady with black hair and an angel's face and a pink bow in her hair.

First and foremost was the fact that he was being ridiculously loose with information, and if he were still employed by Shinra, he would have been taken out into the north marshes and shot for such unacceptable behavior. This particular deviation was potentially catastrophic because he still didn't know where the lines were drawn here. His Turk's brain whirled and churned. If he wasn't careful he could make a fatal political mistake, particularly since Hojo was here in Never Was. But likewise he didn't want to alienate potential allies, as he weighed and evaluated just how much information about himself he could reveal.
His second major concern was just how emotional he was becoming. He knew the reason behind this and it had a name: Dr. Lucrecia Crescent ( ... )

[At least his didn't go completely over the top for more than a few weeks. Thirty years of drama...and Vincent is very interesting. Maybe he could get him and Hojo and Lucrecia under his thumb....]
...It sounds similar to the 'darkness' that the heartless are supposedly part of. Do you want me to look into that? It could help with it.
I agree; it's definitely magical in nature. I think I'm sprouting wings as well and my skin is starting to change pigmentation.

Drama, my friend, would be an understatement I think.
[Wait a moment. Kefka mentioned 'heartless', and darkness. Perhaps he might be able to help him explore an oddity that had both he and Lucrecia stumped. But at what cost? Such 'help' as what this man was 'offering' rarely, if ever, came for free. Still, it might be worth looking into.]
Since you have mentioned it, I have encountered these 'heartless' that you speak of once already as Chaos and something both unique and unusual happened. I was told that heartless are darkness, but of a different kind than Chaos. Why then, would the heartless that Chaos encountered stop their attack and stare at it? It was strange, almost like they were waiting for instructions, or hypnotized, or perhaps both? And then Chaos just, absorbed them. One minute they were there, and the next they were just... gone.
[His tone turns a little wry:]Feel free to look into this matter if it suits you, I would certainly be grateful, but I'm not so naive as to expect this to be done pro ( ... )
