[Xemnas is regal in his royal blue robes with the high, lacy collar, which peeks out from under his Organization coat, looking down at Never Was from his mansion seat through the camera. Pay no mind to the hollows under his eyes; it's not as if he's been fighting the world for control for the past few months. He does that with ease.]Citizens of the ( Read more... )

[he watches the figure that has just appeared on the screen warily]

You speak as though you hold authority here. Am I correct in this assumption? And what are these 'heartless' that you speak of? What concern might they be to me?

I am Mayor Xemnas. And the heartless are monsters who eat hearts. You have a heart, so they must concern you.

[oh the wry amusement!]

Your sarcasm becomes you, sir.

Mayor... then you know all about this place. What can you tell me about it, and how is it one can arrive but cannot leave of their own free will?

[Be glad he's ignoring that comment, wise guy. Don't mind as he's as unhelpful as possible.]

You cannot arrive of this own free will either. This world steals people from their worlds at random.

[Ah, but he's nothing if not quite skilled at putting his foot in his mouth, it's a gift. Likewise is continuing to poke the bear with a stick when it's staring him down.]

I see. So by that admission it would not be a stretch to assume that you were "stolen" as well, and in fact have no control over who gets taken and who does not. But that is an awfully vague answer. Someone has to control this place... and I am not speaking of 'political' control. All I seek are answers, not battles.

I was the first to arrive here, and stretched to take control of the world so it would not implode under my feet.

[He's not admitting he made this place. No, sir.]

The world took shape from my memories and, realizing it would needs hearts to keep it steady from it, starting to steal people from that world. I attempted to stop it, but the world did not, and has not, listened.

[*poke poke poke* He listens with what might be called disbelief, having never heard of such a thing before... but since arriving here he wasn't about to rule it out]

So what you are saying is that this place... feeds on us? It brings us here, to keep itself alive?

[it made sense... sort of, but he needed to know one more thing]

What did you do before you came here?

[its then he notices the well-hidden, but still noticeable signs of strain. It's wearing on him, he thinks with grudging respect for this man's strength... regardless of his motives]

It does not feed; somehow, the people simply being here give it strength.

[Uh. How to spin this.]

I attempted to find my heart.

[He frowns. That too made sense, if one considered this world a living entity, but then again, the world he had come from... the life there, in the form of the lifestream gave the Planet strength, it's own sentience, didn't it? But they were free to come and go from places, whereas here they were unable to leave. Something wasn't making sense here...]

I see.

[This man had something to do with the world, he was convinced of it. Now, just how to find that out... The answer may lie in just who this man was.]

I do not understand, "find your heart"? What does that mean?

All people have a heart. But some lose their heart when the Heartless attack, and those strong-willed enough to survive stay alive, but without their hearts, hollow.

[He gives the mayor a droll stare]

Really. So you don't have a heart. What keeps you alive then?

[He grinds his teeth, this is getting nowhere fast, and he dislikes chasing his tail]

But no one here has lost their heart... or have they. How does one tell, I wonder?

[he frowns in thought and mutters more to himself...]

Strong-willed people... stable world. So this place needs strong-willed people to keep itself stable... stealing them, imprisoning them, using them for its own purpose. [hell of a backhanded complement, that. But something just wasn't clicking! What does this man have to do with it! He thinks vehemently.]
