Mini-movie rec

And now, I will whinge just a little bit about the BAFTA awards, because there's something you folks in the States need to watch if you ever get the chance.

There's a one-off, 80 minute long production by the BBC called Einstein and Eddington, which talks about... well... Einstein and Eddington, and the series of letters they sent to one another talking about Einstein's radical theories before there was proof behind them. Eddington's photographs of a solar eclipse in 1919 gave the first credible proof to Einstein's General Theory of Relativity. It's a really good drama chronicling British panic at German scientists in the midst of World War I.

David Tennant played Eddington (and was brilliant), and Andy Serkis played Einstein (and he was really brilliant).

The feature was up for a BAFTA, and it lost. It was the only thing I cared about in the show, and oh I was so sad.

But yes, srsly American folks: Einstein and Eddington. Highly recommended.
