It was the year 2008 that it happened. A certain group in the scientific community was taking that step forward into the future, aspiring to attain the answer to the universe that we all have sought for thousands of years. The Unified Universe Project was put into action, and that summer the group behind it was to reveal their miraculous invention: the Equator.
As the name states, it was to derive the equation that would answer everything, give the key to the universe and all within it. A complicated project, years in planning, a product of their hopes and dreams. July 29th, 2008, with billions of people across the world watching a live broadcast, their ideas were put to the test, and the machine was activated.
And it could not have gone more wrong.
An equation it did derive, but not to their liking. Bits of the special universe began to expand and collapse, and the space-time that held reality together collapsed, caving and distorting the world into something no one recognized. At least...as a whole.
For those that survived, the world they found themselves in was familiar and strange at the same time. Creatures and beings thought never to exist outside of the imagination were suddenly real. The Unified Universe Project sought to explain the mystery, and began to realize that it was no, in fact, that the universe had collapsed or broken in...
...It was that time itself had compressed, and the fluctuations of the every changing and growing universe were pressed into one point, bringing into existence things long gone and things to come. Peoples from different worlds and different times, billions of years and different universe collapses and rebirths apart, all in the same place.
While all the new groups of beings find themselves together, the Unified Universe Project is determined to try and reverse the effects, and return space and time to their normal states. While the confused wander the broken mishmash of landscapes, some beings do not take lightly to have their existence so altered...
...and plan to make this known to everyone.
