Re: Sakura Kinomoto | Cardcaptor Sakura. anonymous September 17 2009, 17:21:30 UTC
The most important thing I think people forget about Sakura is that she cares so much that it can be a flaw. Syaoran has to keep talking her out of crying and into focusing on the situation, at least early on in the series, and the episode with the Sword Card has a similar situation. She doesn't let him hurt Rika even though the two of them might get hurt instead, and she doesn't think about it-- she just acts. She does it again later in the series-- in the manga, she goes out chasing Eriol's presence once when she's quite ill, and in the anime, she tries to change several cards at once when she begins to worry about them, before Kero can correct her.

Sakura respects all sorts of love-- her father's devotion to her dead mother, Rika's secret relationship even though Rika can't tell her who she's dating, and Syaoran's crush on Yukito are some of the earlier examples. She doesn't blink an eye.

If you're playing in a panfandom game with a lot of different character types represented, it might be useful to note that Sakura is painfully naive. That works for her in her canon because her villains all become her friends. She is prone to deception because she's incredibly gullible, and she always thinks the best of everyone because they prove her right. That might not be the case with a variety of other characters.

Which isn't to say she doesn't have a little bit of a temper, but who does want to be called a monster by their brother? Whatever anger she feels never lasts. She forgives Eriol for his deception rather easily.

These are just a few things I can think of right now. Hope it helps.
