* He is insanely confident in everything he does. He is allergic to doubt. The few times (very few times) he expresses doubt are like, at Shinji's memorial, and he gets over it in about five seconds. Personal opinion, but I think he probably falls on the "represses" side of the angst scale. He has issues/angst/doubt, but he isn't going to admit it or even realize it aloud.

* He is a MASSIVE IDIOT FAIL. He's cool and confident and capable, but he's also dense as a brick. He doesn't understand romance. His reaction to girls in kimonos is to blush and stand way off over there and tell Minato he's embarrassed to look at them. He buys self help books and calls upon the ghost of Shinji for opinions ("If Shinji were here, he'd...") and wears sweatervests and loves training and does squats on the monorail. He's very confident, but the sort of applies that confidence in fail ways. He gets very enthusiastic about all this.

* He likes protecting people. A lot. He has issues with Miki, issues with failing in 10/4, gets REALLY ENTHUSIASTIC about rescuing Fuuka from Tartarus (to the extent that he wanted to go in alone if not with SEES). He grows up to become a police officer. He watches out for Ken. Etc.

* He swears quite a bit. Not as bad as Shinjiro, but Akihiko wins the title of "second most dirty-mouthed in SEES." Only when frustrated or angry, though.
