So, I've finally found enough energy to update again. Between the US Open and the USP Open, I have just been exhausted.
Speaking of the USP (US Paralympic) Open, it was awesome! The paralympic athletes are always more fun to work with. They genuinely appreciate everyone who comes to help with their meets and don't have the inflated egos of their ablebodied counterparts. I got to see Carrie set some new US records for the S13s and speak to Erin Popovich. (For those who don't know, Erin is a dwarf who did what Michael Phelps failed at. She brought home 7 gold medal from Athens in 2004. Where was the news coverage for that?) We also managed a few hours in the Mall of America. (The meet was in Minneapolis.)
Freckles is still comeing along. He decided yesterday he'd try to bock rather than canter. Hopefully today will go better.
And now for the rant part. I want to know when it was decided that a pharmacist with only a little training knows better than a doctor with years of medical training what prescriptions I should or should not have. Do these holier-than-thou pharmacists even know ALL the reasons people are given birth control? NEWS FLASH!!! Birth control isn't just for preventing pregnancy!! There are many reasons doctors prescribe these wonderful pills. They help with menopause and are the easiest way for women with polycistic ovarian syndrome to function normally. But do pharmacists consider this before denying women their pills? Or do they just happily withhold medication and denounce all women with pills as sluts?
Yeah, I've ranted on this one before. And I understand why some people dislike bc. That's fine... so long as they don't force their beliefs on me and my polycistic ovaries. I like finally being normal and don't think it's fair that some pharmacist could deny me my normalcy because they don't believe in hormones. (No I haven't been denied yet. I just read another article on it and they always set me off.)
