Well, only leave it up long enough to track the troll. And there's ways to do it without any of us KNOWING we're being tracked. But IP banning would be the best most permanent solution.
It can get pretty accurate if you're matching post times. Just a suggestion anon. I'm sure there's probably other ways that are way more accurate. That's just the one I know.

If you don't want to use regular IE. You can keep your greasemonkey Expand All and it confines the spammer to a single comment AND doesn't break the scripts on the page.
