It was fun. Simple as that.
The people. The Cosplay. The Music. The fandom. The atmosphere. The (few) meals. Even the utter chaos was fun.
Oh... And the Soap Bubble - Anime Rave.
I didn't get much, even though I really, really wanted to at some points. So many gundam models and a Black Forest poster with the tri-stars (kicking myself for not bringing an extra thirty bucks.) Wall scrolls next to hentai, wall scrolls of hentai. Couldn't find a Gundam or ROD scroll in the whole place on any day. So many toys and knick knacks. Yea, it wasn't as big or flashy as GenCon (by far) but what it had was the feel of being in something between a Turkish Bazaar and an Auction House.
The panels were sparse this year, according to those who have been previously. And I missed two panels I really wanted to see. However, I got in on Gundam AU even though I missed the UC stuff. Nabeshin was around, and I missed his panels. I guess since there were so many events at equal potential it was just hard to try to schedule them all, along with getting back to the hotel to booze up when possible. And yea, many times that was completely necessary.
Saw people I haven't/won't for a while. Which was pleasurable, even though we didn't get to do much together. Also, I came to two conclusions: 1) I'm going next year, and getting my ticket for cheaper; 2) I really wanna cosplay next time. Kristen and I came up with some great ideas, and some of them do depend on other people wanting to go, other don't. I do wanna spend at least one day of the con next year in costume though. It's too much fun, and after some of the shittier costumes I saw, a little bit of forethought and effort will be more than enough to suit what I want.
Alright, my feet are killing me. My mind is slowly crashing. And I finally have a bed to sleep on. I think it's about time I get to catching up on actual rest.
Final note: There are more hot girls in costume than not, and those costumes only make things better. Thank you!
