a quiet sunday

the whole family has been getting a bit of cabin fever for the past month. the weatherman forcasted a big storm to hit us later today. after breakfast, i took a peek up at the sky and still saw some blue patches. seizing the moment, sandy and i grabbed up the kids, packed up the car and headed out to woodbridge lake for a stroll before things got too wet and cold. it was a nice day out. it was breezy but i could at least feel the sun on my face. i took along my tamron 90mm f2.8 di lens. not only does it do great macro, but it makes for a nice telephoto portrait lens too.

megan got restless in the stroller and wanted to stretch her little legs. she scampered all over the path, looking up at trees, picking up leaves, and pointing towards the duckies in the water. after awhile, sandy even took ethan out of the stroller and strapped him into the bjorn so that he could look around and feel the breeze.

towards the end of our stroll around the lake, the clouds turned darker and the breezy wind took on more of a bite. we packed into the car and headed home. just when we got into the house, the rain finally arrived just as predicted. we warmed up with a nice bowl of japanese instant ramen while listening to the rain drops pitter patter outside.

afterwards, sandy and the kids headed upstairs to take a nap. sprawling out on the couch, i called up an old friend to see how he and his wife were doing with their new baby. the rain continued to fall as we talked about life insurance and other sundries of parenting life...
