Mona wasn’t always like this - a liar, a stalker, a bitch, someone who terrorizes others without thinking twice about their feelings. She wasn’t always like this - hiding her true self from the world, trying her best to keep the charade going a little longer and staying one step ahead of everyone else, enjoying the torment she was dishing out to people she felt deserved it.
It started out as simple revenge, what could be sweeter? Before she knew it, things were turning more sinister. It wasn’t just about losing Hanna, not by a long shot. It was about hurt feelings and the way she was mistreated. The years of therapy she endured - that was time she couldn’t get back and even though she wouldn't admit it, Mona didn’t like being the center of attention.
There was no way she could accurately pinpoint the beginning of the mysterious persona she took on all those years ago. Mona wasn’t a fan of beginnings. They were rough, incomplete, sometimes confusing and depending on who tells the story, can be found somewhere in the middle or the end if the storyteller wants to throw you off. Mona knew all the interesting stuff happened in the middle and for this reason she was preparing for the show.
As she stared out the window of her room in Radley Sanitarium, she smiled and waited for the next visit from Red Coat. This wasn’t over. Emily, Spencer, Hanna and Aria believed it was over, but they didn’t know what they were in for. She acknowledged that what she did to them was terrible, but what was coming was worse.
