I love my Buglet
Tonight, after dinner, Bug noticed some rice on the floor. I was cleaning up the dishes and heard, "Mom, the floor is a mess. Can I vacuum it?" Sweet! He vacuumed half of the dining room and then used the hose attachment to vacuum the kitchen, earning him $0.50 for the extra chores.
We then sat down and he wrote up a chore chart with my help. We wrote down every extra chore available for him to do along with how much he can earn for each chore. He's very excited about the idea of doing the extra chores for money and I'm happy with the idea of giving him a reward for his work.
Of course, we have also agreed upon certain chores as being things you do as part of a family. Folding & putting away the laundry, keeping your room clean and setting/clearing the table are "family jobs." It's time. He's 6 3/4 now (as he likes to put it).
I think this might just work out well.
