12. Pittsburgh 1/6/06- 6-4 Atlanta. The Thrashers DOMINATED the first two periods of this game and built a 5-0 lead through those 40 minutes. Victor and I were with a few people who were seeing their first Thrashers game, and there was plenty to see. After scoring his 2nd goal of the game on a power play slapshot, Ilya Kovalchuk pointed straight to rookie Sidney Crosby who was leaving the penalty box to taunt him and the ill-advised slashing move he made on the scorer. Great moment!!! Even though Pittsburgh closed the lead to 5-4, Ilya sealed the deal for us with an empty netter AND taking the NHL goal-scoring lead!
