Ed proposed on Saturday!! I bet you are wondering how so here it goes:
So we decided to go on a hike at Patrick’s Point State Park on Saturday morning (we were originally supposed to go on sunday but it was "supposed" to rain. So after a little hike and a trip back to the car (The camera’s battery died, I had to pee, etc.) we drive back over to Wedding Rock and have a picnic up at the top. On the drive we heard a song on the radio "Realize" by Colbie Caillat that is really pretty and romantic, and it was stuck in my head after that so I sang it all during lunch. After we finished our lunch I stood up and walked over to the rock wall at the edge (to give him a chance to get the ring out....yes I knew it was coming). He was very nervous and I was too (I was actually laughing-a nervous giggle). Then he sang a little line...It’s the final countdown! I said "to what?" and then he got down on one knee and said "You are my friend, and my lover. Like you there is no other. You are the love of my life. Will you marry me and become my wife?" Of course I said yes! He then told me that the diamond was my late grandmother’s and I started crying. I knew about the diamond but always thought my mom was going to do something with it for herself (it was my dad’s mom’s diamond). So I had no idea I was going to get the diamond. It was a very exciting time, unfortunately we didn’t have long to celebrate it before I had to leave to shoot a wedding in Fortuna. It sucked being away from him all day right after he proposed but I had a lot of fun at the wedding. After I got back we had a few friends over to celebrate with a champagne toast of Wilson Creek Almond Champagne that I had been saving for this event since January when I went wine tasting in Temecula...which is where we will get married coincidentally. :) Oh and that song we heard on the radio...that will be our first dance. :)
Thank you to everyone who has been congratulating us!!
p.s. the ring is my icon :)
