En Memorium...Blessed Paradise

Dec 20, 2007 10:49

I have been unable to take part in the Starlight Festival due to the death of my mother, so I have been in mourning.  All ties to San d'Oria have been cut, save for my love of the people.  I will spend a few more days in reminiscence and reflection in the Cathedral.  The Vicasque has given me her blessing that her time spent in service to the Goddess, Altana, will secure her place in paradise, and that my dedication to the San d'Orians will eventually allow me to follow and be with her and you in paradise, my father.
Death is not a new concept, for I have killed Orcs and Goblins.  Your death, and hers.  Two of the finest people in San d'Oria, and yet neither of you will ever be recognized for your contributions to the cause of the people.
Mother, we never had anything but each other and the memory of my father, but I know that the stars will align and eventually, you, both of you, will gain recognition for your lives,
I will live a more humble life in all things that I do.  I will serve the royalty with heart and hope that we, San d'Oria, will restore Vana-diel and meet in Paradise, once more.
Through faith, steel, and soul, may the people of Vanadiel know complete and utter peace and walk through the gates of Paradise, whether they be Hume, Galka, Mithra, Taru, or Elvaan.  We are Altana's children, and may the blessings bestowed to us bring us closer to her.
I vow, father, that with this sword, whether it be a sword, a great sword, or something else entirely, I will uphold the tenets of the Royal Knights, just as you did so very long ago.
Mother, with compassion, love, and hope, I will walk the path of the Templar Knights, with magic, whether white, black, red, or something else entirely, that I will purge the lands of the Shadow Lord, protect the innocence of the children, like Tedimout, and return Vanadiel to the arms of Altana, for everyone.

And to me, I will dedicate my life to the continuance of the nation I love, and all of those who reside in it.  May we forever be bound to the end known as Paradise, severed from all attachments and vices, knowing only truth, love, and peace.

Thus, we are all bound to you, m'lady, Altana.  May the Gates of Paradise open to you.
