Character: Asch the Bloody
Series: Tales of the Abyss
Character Age: 17 (19 after the events of the game)
Canon: Replicas, identity crises, and complete world destruction! Wrap these all up in a box and you’ve got Luke fon Fabre’s story. Forced to atone for a grave error, Luke has grow up a lot in order to make the world a better place for everyone.
That is, with the exception of a youth named Asch, a deeply embittered young man who doesn’t try to appear kind, understanding, or very easy to deal with. And he’s got a good reason for it: he bears a grudge against Luke, his replica, for stealing his life. He’s shed his name and everything attached to it, and instead wears that grudge proudly. Not wanting others to see past this, he speaks in an angry and terse manner in order to strengthen the wall around him. At times, he’s much too stubborn, and doesn’t care if his approach to things is completely illogical. Beneath this, there is a highly self-conscious individual who is actually very considerate. He may have had his life ripped away from him, but he still wishes to protect people. In a lot of ways, this makes him a big softie-but don’t expect this to ever shine through. Giving up a grudge takes a lot of work. Too much in his case, it seems.
Note: Asch’s hair is feathered into a bird-like style, and he has the ability to connect with his replica telepathically.
Sample Post:
Shut up, everyone! And for the last time, I don’t need your help. I don’t want it, either. It doesn’t matter if you’ve decided that I’m a human version of you. I already said that my hair isn’t made of feathers.
Good. That worked. If I knew you’d be like this, I would have asked the undead instead. Even if they are dragging themselves on the ground and begging for brains, I’ve dealt with worse back home. But I doubt I’d get what I need from them. At least you told me what Elizabeth Sayre is doing. She’s capturing people here and torturing them. And she’s doing this because she’s bent on revenge to find who killed her fiancé. Unfortunately, that stupid woman missed a very simple fact: that man is alive. Humph, as dumb as it is, I can’t ignore the amount of power she has to keep people trapped. Why she continues to bother is beyond me, because with how none of you shut up, you must have pointed it out to her already. She’s too caught up to bother to listen to reason. And since Stephan doesn’t bother to show himself, she won’t believe it. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t want to bother with his crazy fiancé. I wouldn’t blame him.
But there’s a possibility that you bird brains never considered: all the undead are walking around because they’re failed attempts to bring Debussey back. I’d say it’s a waste of time. The dead should stay dead. Still, it sounds like she brings the criminals here to take revenge on the potential criminals with her failed attempts. Tch, it wouldn’t surprise me if she got so caught up in hurting the criminals that she forgot to focus on Debussey himself. … But that just means that she needs to be stopped even more. Especially if she has that much power.
In order to stop her, I’ve hatched a plan. … No, it didn’t come out of an egg. We already covered this: I’m not like you! Now listen. I will assemble an army of goats and gorillas and move to the water’s edge. I’ve decided that Elizabeth Sayre uses the giant monster to hide her fortress from other individuals in camp. While she could be hiding outside of the camp, it seems unlikely. Someone with that much power has to be maintaining it from inside. I have no intention of leading all of these creatures to their deaths-which doesn’t mean I’m … nice. That means I’ll use them to create a diversion. I’ll slip in during that, and use my power to stun the creature inside to get around her. Don’t try to follow me inside. I’ll handle this alone.
Yes, I already know it’s dangerous. I don’t need any useless rubber gifts you pulled off a tree. Now let’s go.
