Characters: Tenten, Tsunade
When: Today after classes
Where: Hallways, parking lot, dorm room
Summary: The roommates get acquainted
No Warnings

Tsunade: After spending the night in an empty room, Tsunade woke up early to talk to administration about getting herself a roommate and schedule. It took longer than expected due to her late arrival but she left the office with a room number and courselist in hand, wondering where she would be able to find Tenten-san at this time of day. She had only spoken to the girl online and only had her avatars to go by; however, she scanned the hallway as she stepped out of the office confident that she would be able to spot the girl if she was in the crowd. The time told her that the days classes were over and she decided the best thing to do would be to make her way up to the room and wait for her roommate there.

Tenten: There was just something so liberating about the final bell of the day--granted, Tenten ended her day with a free period, but still--that final bell sent adrenaline coursing through her system, and made the sunshine that much sweeter. It always had that effect on her. The brunette hummed a few bars of what was, in her rendition, an unrecognizable tune, and let herself be pulled along by the crowd. She wasn't planning on going anywhere in particular until dinnertime, and decided to go wherever she ended up.

Tsunade: Walking against the crowd of students, or more like stampede, Tsunade ignored the curious glances that all new students received and instead kept her eyes focused slightly above everyones heads. Her thoughts strayed to her course list and she wasn't paying attention to the people around her when she collided into a body. She automatically reached out to grab and steady the other person when she saw who it was and noticing the trademark hairbuns, raised an eyebrow in question. "Tenten-san?"

Tenten: She didn't often crash into people; years of Gai and Lee's odd hobbies and her own family's penchant for martial arts (as well as the simple need to prepare a meal with up to six people in the kitchen to work around) had trained her to duck and weave with the very best of them, her reflexes honed from need. Sadly, the hallways of Sado were crowded, and there wasn't any room to try and avoid the body. Tenten found herself slammed into someone very curvacious and very much taller than her. And then she heard her name. "...Eeeeh?" Tenten looked up. And then up again. That face...looked like the icon of..."Tsunade-san!"

Tsunade: She laughed good naturedly at her younger roommate's expression. "That's me!" Releasing the younger girl, she grinned sheepishly. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking. I just left from spending the whole day in the office with my courselist and my thoughts were elsewhere."

Tenten: Tenten laughed, falling into her natural ease. "I can see why! The entire day in one room...that would make anyone dazed. I hope you like your courselist?" She looked around for a moment, and then placed an arm on Tsunade's elbow, guiding them to a spot to the side of the hallway, out of the rush of students. "What are you majoring in?"

Tsunade: "I'm not going to have a major, more like a few minors," she said while allowing herself to be guided out of the crowd. "I'm taking a variety of courses to compliment my background experience and knowledge so some of the courses I'm registered in are Psychology, Religion, Medical Histology and other Medical courses. How about you? The Adminstration told me you were taking courses to become a Mechanical Engineer."

Tenten: "Pretty much." Tenten grinned up at the blonde. "I know I'll have to narrow it down from there eventually, but for now I'm just going to go with it. Besides that I'm taking art and music. And English. You know, sorta need it nowadays..." She gestured wildly as she spoke, talking with her hands as much as with her voice and expressions. "But it's great! I really like it here."

Tsunade: "Ah, it's always nice to have a bit of variety in the courses, ne?" Chuckling at her energy. "Are you busy now or are you free for abit? I was just looking for you in hopes that you would be able to help me unpack a few things before dinner." She dug out her car-keys, determined to get a little bit of work done even if Tenten was otherwise busy.

Tenten: "Oh, I'm completely free." Tenten bounced a bit. "I stowed my books last period, so I'm even free in the literal sense. My hands, I mean." She took a moment to laugh at her nonsensical sentence, then began to walk a little. "Just lead the way! I'd love to have the room all full and homey."

Tsunade: Tsunade laughed at her innocent nonsense. Leading the way out of the school and to the student parking lot, she commented on the nice weather they were having before pointing to a black Mazda RX-8. "That's my baby," she grinned as she unlocked the doors and opened the trunk to reveal three large boxes. "I have a few more on the backseat if you want to start with one of those while I grab something heavier from the trunk."

Tenten: "Oh, wow." The younger girl gasped, and almost tentatively ran a hand across the door. "Gorgeous. I don't have a car, myself. Family of seven and not enough to go around." Tenten explained, looking in at the backseat and pulling out two boxes, a medium and small, and tucking them into her arms, her chin propped neatly on the top.

Tsunade: "That must be nice to have such a large family though," she smiled. Grabbing a box full of medical textbooks, she didn't bother closing the car doors as she started to make her way back inside the building. "Although, I think you're going to have to lead the way to our room. I didn't recognize the room number." She shifted the box in her hands as paused to allow Tenten the lead.

Tenten: "It really is. I love them, even when I hate them, you know?" Tenten laughed. "Oh, our room...well..." She looked hesitant for a split second before giving an apologetic grin. "I don't know if you want to hear this, but it's on the third floor."

Tsunade: "I know what you mean about family," shrugging her shoulders with indifference at hearing where their room was. "That's not a problem for me since these texts aren't as heavy as they appear to be."

Tenten: "Ah, good! I rather like it, myself. We have a window, and the view is just perfect. You can see the town and the sunrise is amazing...Oh, speaking of the town!" Tenten pushed open the door to the stairs with her shoulder, having been walking and talking at the same time. She turned to let Tsunade through, then began walking backwards up the stairs in order to maintain eye contact. "There's a festival this Friday! I'm going with a group of people, and you're more than welcome to come, if you like!"

Tsunade: Ah, Tsunade noted, She's quite the chatterbox. "A festival? I'll have to think about it," brushing off the idea. She hated going to festivals. Not because she didn't enjoy having fun, but because they always reminded her of how alone she was without Dan. Going to festivals had been one of their favorite pasttimes together and her heart saddened at the thought; however, she was quick to put up a mask before Tenten saw her pain. They were almost up the stairs now and she hoped her roommate didn't chose this last stretch to lose her balance and trip.

Tenten: "Ah, okay. Don't feel obligated to come or anything." Tenten grinned, "Oh, and tell me if I start to annoy you. A few people have said I'm too happy and talk too much. What can you do?" The girl continued walking backwards, seemingly at ease with the act of climbing stairs in such a way. "So, Tsunade, do you have any hobbies?"

Tsunade: "It's refreshing to be around someone as cheerful as yourself so don't worry, you don't annoy me." Which was the truth. It had been awhile since she was in the company of someone as talkative and happy as Tenten and she was grateful for being boarded up with her. "Hmm, I suppose I have some hobbies. When I'm not studying I usually spend my time in the Casino's, go driving, sing Karaoke or attend Open Mic events. What do you like to do for fun?"

Tenten: "Casinos?" Tenten blinked, then grinned, "Oh, awesome. If you know any card games, you'll have to teach me! I don't really know any...well, I know go fish, but that doesn't really count. And as for the karaoke, I'm with you! Although I can't really carry a tune...and I'm not kidding, joking, or trying to be humble." The girl laughed. "Ah, me, I like to hang out with my friends, or do something that involves movement. And I do like to read, though I prefer doing so outside...Just being outside, I guess. And I do shop." Her grin turned feral. "Yes, I do shop."

Tsunade: "You're right, Go Fish doesn't count," she laughed. "I'll teach you Poker one of these nights." They were at the top of the stairs now and she waited for Tenten to go through the door before following her into the hallway. "Well of course you shop, what girl doesn't?" Not that she would ever admit it to anyone, but she secretly loved to shop and spend her family inheritance funds on random items.

Tenten: "I don't know! But for some reason I never got invited on shopping trips in my old school...I mean, yeah, my two best friends are guys, and yeah, I'm involved in a lot of sports, but what the heck does that have to do with shoes? Shoes are just in a world of their own. Oh, if I had a million dollars...I would shop for shoes." Tenten laughed, completely unembarassed by her odd confession, and led the way to their room. "We can put your name on the door later," She intoned, as the reached it, Tenten's name scrawled on the whiteboard attatched to the door, with a few random notes to herself around it (most prominent was 'IRON YOUR SKIRT').

Tsunade: "Shoes? I'm all for the blouses." Unfortunately, she had to leave most of her wardrobe at home. "This floor seems pretty quiet," she commented aloud when she noticed the lack of student movement and wondered if Tenten locked the door when she wasn't in class.

Tenten: "Yeah, for some reason we don't have very many people here. They have yet to check in. I myself was a little late." Tenten managed to juggled the boxes just enough to get out her key, and somehow got the door open; there was, indeed a large window right before them, looking out over the town. Tenten's side of the room, to the left, was slightly disorganized, covered in color and posters and open books. Tsunade's was bare but for the neatly made bed and dresser.

Tsunade: The first thing that caught her attention was the colour of Tenten's area and secondly the window. She didn't mind the mess too much since she was also a disorganized person (her notes where chaotic and hardly made any sense most of the time) and instead quickly dropped the box she was carrying onto her bed before making her way to the window. "You were right this is an amazing view. We got lucky," Tsunade grinned as she remembered the stuffy room she had last year.

Tenten: "Yeah, I know! I couldn't believe it. It's the reason I come back to the room as often as I do." Tenten laughed, carefully putting her boxes on Tsunade's desk. "I like to look at the stars as I fall asleep; they're so clear here."

Tsunade: "I can't wait until tonight then," Tsunade smiled before they continued with unloading her boxes from the car. After a few trips and having set the last of the containers next to her bed, she stretched out her back before turning to her roommate. "Again, I really appreciate you helping me out like this but I can take it from here if you want to leave or have better things to do." All that was left was to unpack and arrange her posessions. Her posessions consisting mainly of street and dress clothes, books, and quite a few pictures - items she was sure her roommate would take no interest in.

Tenten: "No, it's alright, I don't really have anything to do." Tenten beamed, than frowned a little, her habitual smile fading. "Unless you're going to be unpacking private items...? I don't want to intrude..."

Tsunade: "Naw, I don't have anything like that," she chuckled. "Even if they were private now, one can't really keep anything private from a roommate for the whole entire year." It was touching how thoughtful Tenten was. To prove her point, she started to open up boxes.

Tenten: "I don't really have anything like that, either." Tenten relaxed, her smile blooming once more. "As you probably know by now." She laughed.

Tsunade: "It was hard not to notice," Tsunade winked. She randomly chose a box to start working on and finding it full of clothes, began to sort out piles to place into the dresser drawers. "Don't be shy, ne. I'm not picky where anything goes and maybe with the two of us working together, we'll be able to make the last bit of dinner. Ya know, I'm counting on you to introduce me to people."

Tenten: "That I can do!" Tenten grinned, and began to help sorting. "I've met quite a few interesting ones so far..."

Tsunade: As she sorted, Tsunade packed the clothes away and within minutes they were done. Setting the box aside, she reached for another one and found it full of various knick-knacks and pictures. "Oh? There's a few people I know from previous years," she commented as she took out the most recent picture of her and Dan. "Interesting people help make the school year go faster it seems. Anyone I should be warned about or is there anything I need to know about certain individuals?"

Tenten: "Well..." Tenten eyed the picture with interest, but didn't ask. She was too busy going over everyone she'd met in her mind. "I like everyone, really, so far. The only person so far who hasn't really liked me in return is Sasuke-kun." She grinned, suddenly, "But that's okay. Sometimes you don't choose your friends; they choose you."

Tsunade: She gave the girl a warm smile. "That's right." Taking out more pictures and giving them a slight dusting-off before gently setting them on her bed, she was happy Tenten hadn't commented on her photos. She wasn't ready to pour out her heart just yet. In the past the first thing her roommates commented on were all the pictures she had laying around of her and her dead fiancee, and it grew tiresome having to explain her lifestory to strangers that never stuck around. "I'm sorry I have so much junk, it's just so hard to pack for school because there's almost always something I regret leaving behind."

Tenten: "I know what you mean. Sadly, the things I regret leaving behind I couldn't take: my weapons collection and my family." Tenten grinned, a little more calm now that she was getting used to Tsunade. "But then there's the things I just plain forgot. A book I thought I'd never need, a cd I never listen to...and then you find yourself going 'wow, I really want that now'."

Tsunade: "I know what you mean," she laughed. "But I guess that's what the post is for or making an extra trip to town. I like to use my lack of remembering things as an excuse to go shopping." Her knick-knacks and photos were in place, and she gave the box full of textbooks a dubious glance. Tsunade was too hungry to care about her books. "What kind of weapons do you collect?"

Tenten: "I'll have to show you the shops around town. I've only been here a few days, but I scouted 'em out." Tenten grinned, and looked at the time, trying to remember what dinner was that day. "I collect anything sharp, really. A lot of swords, but I'm also really into ninja weapons." The girl's eyes brightened. "Like, kunai and shuriken...it's really hard to find the good quality ones."

Tsunade: "Going into town sounds like a plan," she made a mental note of Tenten's interests. "Good quality is hard to come by. Ne, do you think you can live with my books being in boxes for another night? I wouldn't mind going for some food right about now and meeting everyone."

Tenten: "I think I would love that." Tenten smiled in embarassment. "I'm starving."
