[He's late, as always, a notebook tucked under his arm as he peers about the alleyway, glancing around for Mello and impatiently tapping his foot. He needs to get this over with, quickly- who knew when Xanxus would need him again?]
[When Mello approaches Belphegor, and fists his hand in Bel's shirt, and shoves him to the wall, he steps right on the notebook, and his voice is low.]
[Bel lets him, tilting his head up. A bruise, previously hidden in the shadows of his hair, shines on his cheek. He smells vaguely like wine and soap.]
