About six months after I added it to my wish list of stories I would like to be portrayed (well) in film, I discover that PBS is airing a new movie called
Warrior Queen this fall.
A movie based on the true story of Queen Boadicea. How come it seems that no one else has taken this story and visualized it onto film before? It has everything a good film should have. A strong heroine, a historical reference, a tragedy, battle scenes, challenges, and a conclusion. (I suppose that I shouldn't give that away, huh?)
I'm still cautious though. TV movies have a tendency to really suck so I'm not dancing around wildly yet. The little website they have dedicated to the movie at this time isn't raising my enthusiasm much either. I must remember to "check my local listings" as the premiere date gets closer. I would really like to see this one at least whether it is good or bad.
