Writer's Block

This isn't really addressed to anyone nor do I expect a response. I haven't posted in a long time and this is something i have been thinking about for a long time. See there's a story I'm telling and I want to get it to a certain point. That point seems far away right now but it'll come sooner or later, the happy ending. The point of the story where all the heroes gather together, where all the secrets are revealed, and where a final challenge is overcome. However it is at that point where my story well either end or it will go on. I think an ending is far more intricate a thing than a beginning. Endings that aren't done well bug the shit out of me. I find that often real life effects the end of a story, maybe the writer gets tired or is influenced by their employers. I hate the ending of little nemo, ever since i was little it has bugged the shit out of me. For those who don't know the movie ends with a "it was all a dream...or was it" and thats crap. I hated the animorphs ending, cassie craps out on her friends for a "real" life and the group flies off to an adventure we will never see the end of. I hate the Harry Potter ending SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!, they live happily ever after and have kids.
Maybe I'm just picky, who knows. My point is that I'm not sure how to end my story. I know someday life will get in the way and I won't be able to tell it anymore, honestly with John it's barely together now. I think I would like to tell the part after the "happy ending" or maybe a little before. The part I have in mind requires the "heroes" to finally come together and be a group only to be driven apart. So far the conflict has been the group versus an outside force but i think this last bit should be the group versus the group. I want to create a conflict that forces the player to really wonder "who's side am I on". I think it would be nice for them to be split apart for this, fueled by real belief. To have them break the party dynamic though i need a very special weapon and it's here that i hit the block. The group is already like minded and finding an issue to divide them is difficult. Politics maybe.. I don't know, i do know however that tom will be the driving force. If I can get him to strongly oppose the others for this I know I'll have my conflict.
