that was the best thing about saturdays game!!! didnt even know about it, until i walked into the ground only to have my mate shout at me as im walking up the stairs, "your boy's captain!"!! yay!!!!
okay well i lie that was one of the good things. first off managed to get a few more autographs in my decade of dreams book, so im getting there. met armstrong, rosenior, lita, gunnarsson, marek (ok so i know ive already got some of these in my book, but still :)). then found out about Doyle being captain!
in the first half we actually lookedl ike we were getting back to our old selves! pushing forward and working as a unit, but i honestly dont know what happened in the second half, i dont think the team knew either - it was back to the same story of the last few weeks! forest came at us and that was it! couldnt get the ball on the floor and were huffing it back towards the strikers. Coppell did throw on Jay Tabb for his debut in place of Kebe (thank god) and he looks like he could be a good player for us! Coppell had already changed Harper, Cisse and Lita for Marek, Gunnarsson and Noel Hunt in the starting line-up, but for Coppell to make a subsitution as early as he did, i think we were all shocked! esp when he then changed formation and took off Armstong and Gunnarsson and brought on Lita and Cisse (going 3-4-3) something that we very rarely do!! i think Coppell got the message from the fans!!
another thing that was refereshing about the game was that we had a LINEWOMEN!!! and i was impressed by her! (even though Doyle did find the back of the net, she got the decision right, it was offside!dam it!!!)the lads before the game were mucking around saying she wouldnt be any good. my response well you lot cant get anything right! and boy was i right!!! the ref was terrible in regards to sorting out forest's timewasting! regarding this forest were not what i call sportsman like! they were cheaters!!! even davis was getting in on the act. reading play the mulit-ball system as we like a quick flowing game, but everytime the ball went out of play for a forest corner, free-kick or goal kick, they would want the ball that had been in play, not the one that they were given!! so they would throw the other one away and go after the one that had just been put out of play. it got so much that my mates brother who is invovled with the multi-bal system had to go around the pitch to tell the ball-people to give the forest players the ball to stop the cheating. but did this work???NOPE Forest continued to carry on!! if the ref had just started booking them when they started doing it in the first half then it probably would have stopped, but no it took him till the 70th min to actually book someone for it!!!! IDIOT!!!!
rant over for now!all i can say is thank god brum and wolves lost too! thing is everyone else is catching us up and we arent taking advantage of the other two slipping up!!! i think we need to get away from teh mad stad and see what we can do there - next up sheff.weds tomorrow! (eekk)
