Shefield Wednesday and Watford recap.

Right finally got abit of time (although not as much as i would like!)

First off, Tuesdays night game!!! boy what a great 90 mins of football! 6-0!!!! 2-0 up after first 9 mins!!! :) did my usual and went straight from work, so was ready to take my seat in time for the team to come out for warm ups! the notable changes were Bikey in for Ingimarsson (who we later found out had food poisioning!) and Noel Hunt got his first league start in place of Shane Long.  Murty still not fit, so Harper carried on as Captain.

Game started off lively, with Reading shotting towards the north stnad first (where i sit). Turned to my dad and said thats fine as long as they score some up my end and i wasnt to be disappointed! on the 5th min - the ball was in the back of the net - 1-0! KEVIN DOYLE! i was going mad! see he scored one and flood gates opened like i said they would! that started us all going and it stayed that way. 4 mins later 2-0 doyle again! at this point i jokingly said to my dad what odds would he give me for another Doyle hatrick?? i got told never going to happen :hehe:  Just before half time, Stephen Hunt took a freekick which met Bikey's head.....3-0 at half time! after the break........we didnt have to wait long for a forth as Noel Hunt scored his first league goal for the club! this was the one i was looking forward to, as he has deserved to start after the last few weeks ( i love Long, but Hunt deserved his full league debut). Decided to look over to the sub bench and saw that Long and Convey were getting ready to come on, which could only mean one thing, Doyle and Stephen were going off......but no it wasnt over yet.....Doyle scored a cracker of a third to make it back-to-back hatricks and has already equalled last years total goals scored in two games! :) we were going crazy! i just turned to my dad and laughted, he couldnt believe it either! after the celebration him and Stephen were subbed and 'Supoer Kev' rang out at full volume around the ground. i was just going to text my mum to say 5-0, but had to scrap it becasue Convey and Noel had other ideas.......within a minute of Bobby coming on he set up Noel and he grabbed his second goal of the game.....at one point thought we were going to have a fight on our hands for the match ball, had Noel got another one (him and doyle would have been after the ball ). The only thing that would have topped the match off would have been if Shane Long's shot gone in, but it hit the top of the crossbar....he derserved a goal when he came on.

Lost my voice as usual (what else wold you expect!) but worth it! Dont get me wrong it wasnt all one-sided. Wednesday had their moment and kept our defense on their toes!! they wre great on the attack and Marcus made some amazing saves to keep that clean sheet! they just lacked the final touch. it wasnt a case of they were terrible, it was a case of Reading having a fantastic game and being the better team on the day! also credit to the wedsnesday fans....kept singing till the end and even joined in with the songs...we were shouting 'we want 7' and they replied 'we want 1'. its great to see that even though they were getting beat they were still upbeat enough to join in with the banter (west ham were the same when we beat them by the same score line, they were even doing the conga in the stands!).

Each player played their part in the game, even Kebe had his moments (set up the first goal) but he needs to learn to stop with the fansy footwork and pass the ball to one of the others, who has a better chance of scoring! jury still out on him! couldnt have been prouder of my boys, it is so easy to relax when you are 6-0 up but each player was still going as they had in the first half).

Onto todays game.....well where do i start. first of all let me say i wasnt there, so only going from what i heard on the radio. Had been out shopping this morning with my mum, so when we got in the car about 3:15 was shocked to hear we were 0-1 up considering we were away...but then i heard why???? BLODDY OFFICIALS THEY SPOIL THE GAME!! i know we are meant to respect the officials but seriously they spoilt what should have been a good game of fofotball today. Apperently our supposed goal didnt even hit the back of the net, instead should have been a corner!WTF? i hear u say well i dont know, got to wait till tomorrow to see it on the tv, but how can you give a goal when it didnt even touch the back of the net?? the second half spured the watford players and fans on more and led to them scoring 2 goals which put them ahead. we though we had scored when it was 1-1, in fact we had scored for the ref disallowed it (trying to make it up to watfrod i think), not sure reason he gave! which is fair enough but seriously we have had so many dodgy decisions against us in the past and had to deal with it, why should we have been peanlised????? im not complaining becasue luckly we got a penalty after Shane Long was knocked over in the area which Stephen Hunt converted, so it finished level which to be honest was a fair result, but still????? these men have the power to control games, they should at least get it right. after the cock up, it changed the style of the game...no one was playing properly (from what it sounded) and the officials spent too much time mucking around and chatting over the slightest decision...we eneded up with 5 mins of added on time! crazy!!! BUT on the plus side we got a point away, which is only our 2nd point away from home this season (1st since opening day of the season) and hopefully this will give the boys a huge life ahead of Stoke in the carling cup on tuesday and our next away game a week tuesday against Wolves (not looking forward to that one). if only we could have won today, esp as QPR and Brum both lost, would have gained on them.

But now got to look forward to Swansea next saturday at home, where hopefully we can keep up our great home record and well my Doyle shirt will be in my bag and who knows...2 hatricks in 2 games and both games my shirt has been in my bag (taking it up to try and get it signed as its last season shirt!) fingers crossed.
