Anfield trip

Losing 2-1 at anfield isnt too bad. Esp as we went ahead in the 4th minute!!! talk about heaven!!!

Got to anfield by 1pm, so got to have a good look around (again), even got there before the liverpool team, so got to see them arrive as well as my boys. Had seats right by the liverpool fans about 12 rows back, so had a really good view, esp of oster's free-kick!! so glad for him.

coppell went with an unchanged team again, so that meant Doyle, Oster and Long on the pitch for me. 4 mins in and the unthinkable happened - we got a free kick, taken by oster who side footed it to marek, who in turn struck the ball like a thunderbolt! 1-0 up at anfield! we played really well and they did themselves credit. but about 15 mins later it was 1-1 and remained so until just after half time. But bloody torres had to go and spoil it didnt he and score right in front of us, after they were awarded a free-kick which stevie g took. thing that got to me, IT WASNT A FREE KICK IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!! had a couple of penalty shouts too - jamie c on doyle (he took him down, we could see it from where we were at the other even of the game) and stevie g's handball - 2 handed!! so what was going on there too?? of course silly me it was infront of the cop so it was never going to happen was it??? but the boys should be proud of themselves for how hard they worked!

Which brings me on to the next issue. i know i do rant about refs, but what on earth was going on on saturday???? i sure as hell dont know!! everytime there was a 50-50 challenge, Liverpool got it and when there were blatent challenges on my boys, NOTHING!!! there were countless offsides against Doyle and Long (which werent offsides). I just cna not believe the lack of consistancy this season! it has been unbelievable! another thing that wound me up as the fact that the linesman was caught singing 'your'll never walk alone' with the kop at the beginning of the game! no in my understanding of the game, officials are meant to be impartical, so what was that all about??????

Next issue, before anyone else mentions it is Shane Long. I know he shouldnt have done what he did but i can totally understand why he did it. he didnt get a single thing and was penalised everytime, even when he hadnt done anything. he is not that sort of player to get angry and he has apoligised to everyone from the manager, the club and the fans (its the first time he's got like that and i think it was just the heat of the moment).

I was also very disapointed with some of the reading fans who decided to sing 'oster off!' i couldnt believe what i was hearing, i was fuming i can tell u that. i know alot of people dont like him, but actually hearing your own fans singing that must be terrible. the guy behind me actually had ago at me, when i was shouting to try and incourage him. I had to remind the guy that if it hadnt have been for Oster's free-kick we would have been 2-0 down!! he seems to be the player that everyone hates and to be honest i dont see why (same as some of my mates). we have been watching the last few seasons dvds since he joined and the amount of goals we have scored from his assists (mainly free-kicks and corners) have been amazing - to name a few Man U v reading fa cup 5th round last season, v liverpool this weekend, oh yea and coming on from the subs bench in 05/06 season and scoring within 2 mins! the guy is talented and they should give him a break!

Birmingham next week so its a huge 6 pointer!!! fingers crossed. come on URZ!!!!

BUT best bit this week - im on holiday, the whole week off.yipeeee!!!

liverpool, long, ref rant, reading fc, oster
