Sunderland 2 v Reading 1

Oh crap - not the way that i wanted that game to go one bit! :( thats 8 goals conceeded in 3 games and im not liking the fact that out of those 3 games we have only scored 1!!!!! but im still refusing to panic yet (but give me time).

Before the game, both Sunderland and Reading honoured a great man, Ian Porterfield, he will be sadly missed. He was a hero for both teams having played for Reading for a while, as well as being their manager.

No Doyle yesterday (he was left out after playing 2 more games for RoI during international week) and this time round Coppell felt that he had to rest him, so he didnt travel (we still had Lita, Kitson and Long). Team was : Marcus, Murty, Bikey, Ivar, Shorey, Hunt, Harper, Gunnarsson, Rosenior, Lita and Kitson. Subs : Fed, Convey, De La Cruz, Fae and Long.

Didnt go to the game, but from what i saw on Football First we did have our moments of pressure, but at time never really got into the game. People are calling for Murty, Ivar and Shorey to be dropped, but im not sure????? on the last few games and i hate to say this, i think that harper and gunnarsson should be dropped! (its clear that this partnership isnt work and had to be on or the other - not both! and im someone who thought that it would work). Dont get me wrong i love them both, but i think now is the time for Coppell to bring in Fae and Cisse. Ok i know Oster isnt back yet for RW cover, but Rosenior can play there until he's back. By being dropped i think it would give Harper a sense of the fact he isnt guarnteed a place in the team every week (he has always been one of the few that is guarnteed a starting place), but this might create a new battle for places and spice things up a bit. Plus i would love to see the 2 new boys play together in their actually positions. However you could also put Oster in the middle with Harper when fit (and keep Rosenior on the right). This has worked before!!!

One major moan for me - what planet was the ref on??????? seriously what was he doing??? we had 2 (not 1 but 2) clear penalty claims (2 handballs) and the goalie should have been sent off for handling the ball outside the area!!!!!!!! WTF?????
At times yesterday it looked as if Murty was playing upfront - i swear everytime i saw him he was trying to create chances, bless him. BUT one thing that i think needs to be improved it the communitcation on the pitch among the team!! For the last few games, it hasnt seem to have been there and thats not right - we have always had that.

Would like to see Doyle start upfront on saturday against wigan with Kitson (yes i know im not a kitson fan, but he did score our goal yesterday) and i think that having recovered from his bad season last year and Doyle being raring to go could be good for us!!!

On the bright side yesterday - my mum got my portsmouth tickets for the 29th Sept :) :) yay!!!! it was one of the grounds i didnt do last season! so another one knocked off the list. So that means as well its football right until the next international break - 22nd - Wigan (h), 25th - Liverpool (h) cup, 29th - Portsmouth (a) and Oct 7th - Derby (h)!!!! just what i love!!!

So instead of going to football yesterday, i went to the Towe of London with a mate from work and we had a fab day. the weather was fantastic (lovely and sunny) and the tower - omg never realised how much there was to see and do in there!!!! my favourite bits were Tratiors Gate, The Bloody Tower and the White Tower! It was weird to think that we were walking in the same place as the likes if Henry VIII, Anne Boylen, Lady Jane Grey and the Princes in the Tower had been all those years before us. Took loads of pictures, so will post some soon.

Anyway better go and catch up on hollyoaks before walked_onwater kills me
