City on a Hill is going really well. Here's a sneak preview:
The Youth Group Christmas party was really cool, we had mariokart and ddr competitions and of course Secret Santa. Before the party we saw The Nativity Story, which was an awesome movie, go watch it if you haven't seen it yet.
On the Saturday before Christmas Sarah and I went to Ally's church for a young adults Christmas Party. It was perfect because I had been thinking about how I need to start hanging out with some American Christian people so that I could get some spiritual nourishment myself. These people were super sweet...and there were cute Bostonian Christian guys. I know this sounds dumb since I grew up here but I never met a Christian guy with a Bostonian accent and it was super-hot!!! I mean it's like two things that I would never connect -- the cute rough Bostonite with a total passion for God, mmm...yet....that's hot...I mean I always connect white Christianity with upper-middle-class guys, but normal guys??? wow... But I'm getting a little too excited...
Christmas was awesome, I got an AMAZING camera (have you seen that commercial with the tennis star? That's my camera!!! 6 Megapixels...ohhh yeah....) And I got "At Knit's End" by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee and laughed my head off...lol...and she kind of inpired me to start a stash...well her and the 50% off clearance at Michaels. I have the most awesome yarns! I had to move things around in my room to get it all to fit lol. It's my last splurge before my grace period ends on my loans.
Plus my sister gave me a knitting shirt too. Knitting is def the obsession-of-the-moment, after spending the summer yarn-free, I need to get as many projects in as I can before it gets warm and I get lazy. After watching Elizabethtown I was obsessed with Kirsten Dunst's hat, so I made myself one in green. It doesn't make as much of an impact as her red one, but I got some white boucle (on massive sale) that will look even cuter. So here I go, making another one...
Sam and I went in to Boston on Saturday, which was such a blast because we found this store in The Garage at Harvard Square -- it's called Hootenany (it's like a clothing store connected to Newbury Comics) and it's awesome!!! I got a pair of adorable vans slip-ons for incredible price and a really cute pink star belt. When we got home we had an awesome surprise awaiting us -- Sam got into Gordon!!! I had been praying for her to get in, and it was really worrying us that her letter didn't come for awhile after they said it would, but it finally did and she's in!!!
And that's about all I have to say...I've got to get back to work. You know what's the wierd thing about working at home? You feel like a bum if you stop at 5 like everyone else....I have to stop being a dork...
