Good News and Bad News

Aug 18, 2006 10:14

I should have written this yesterday because then I'd only have written about the good news and I'd be more excited about it.

Good news: I bought a car! I'm only getting it next week, but I'm holding the title so it's definetly mine! It's a metallic brown color (but really nice, you'll see when I post pictures next week) and it has tan leather interiors and power everything (Sun roof, windows, driver's seat....) It needs a few new parts (only cosmetic stuff radio, wiper blades, etc, the engine is in excellent condition) and then I will be part of the vehicled elite! woot woot!

Bad news: After a three-day marathon of writing sermons, after planning, and getting angry, and getting excited, Acampamento has been cancelled. I can hardly believe it. But since people are dying of triple E in the Carver area, the church doesn't feel comfortable taking a bunch of kids for a week. Personally I think, only 2 people are sick out of their entire population and we're worried? On the other hand, Dona Bete said that she prayed about it and this is the conclusion she came to, so I totally respect that. The only thing is that every other camp that's even available at such short notice is really expensive (Or should I say, expensive for the people at church) and Dona Bete is talking about rescheduling to Medford. Medford? Um hello? Who want to be inside a church in the middle of the summer playing games and listening to long sermons? I mean, it's easier to sit and listen at Acampamento because after a long day of swimming and tetherball sitting and listening to someone for an hour is actually a relief. But to go to Medford and do that. That's messed the heck up. I don't even want to go, and I'm the youth pastor.

So all we can do is pray that God will show us what he wants us to do before Dona Bete and "Tia" Keila come up with some brilliantly miserable idea.

Either way, I have a car!!!
