4. How long have you been in the BJD hobby?
At least 4 years, possibly 5? I was IN the hobby before I got dolls. I had to wait a year to get Franks (I saved up hardcore). batchix got me into it earlier tho.
5. Do you RP? If so, who is/was your favorite character to RP with?
I did RP in CM. Man, it was so alive in HS! :3 XD; That's hard I love all my chars. I did really enjoy RPing Flora tho. She was a riot. Lani's very dear to my heart though.
6. Who is/was your favorite person to RP with?
um... Either saynotoinertia , solsticechild , or lacontessa11 . Good times. Good times. What does this have to do with dolls???
7. How many dolls have you ever sold?
1, Mafi who lives with the gorgeous saynotoinertia !
8. Out of all of those, who do you miss the most?
Mafi. I was a bit too cruel to her in this house. I mean Bugaboo LOVES her and when you're horribly afraid of bugs (a giant beetle that if given life size proportions would be Massive) this is really a crap place to be. XD; I don't however miss the charges she made to my credit card, the constant fear that she might harm me if I didn't get her a body soon, and her mafia ties.
Okay, maybe I do, just a BIT. :3 But she's happy with saynotoinertia ... and I'm quite happy with her there. I still get to see her... and that's the main importance.
9. What is your favorite thing in this hobby?
Making new friends, the constant ability and allowance to be completely silly, and the lack of "you still play with DOLLS?!" at 26. XD;
It's also a lot of fun when you have people see you out and about (usually at meetups or when we're out with friends) and go "Now what are these?" and you get to pop off headcaps to show them how you chance the eyes out, pop off wigs and change their hair, explain how they work... etc. Its really cool to see that there's a fascination all over the board for dolls. I've been asked by people from 5-75 about them. It's such a wide age range, but it's nice to see. Conversely you get the people going "You still play with dolls?! :P" but we try not to let their lack of maturity influence our playtime. ;)
10. Who is the first BJD that ever entered your house/that you ever saw in real life?
I believe it was Ghaleon, with Batchix. :3 I went out and played with her Ghaleon and Jareth one day on campus and had a BLAST. That's what kind of made me go "Okay, I need one." They're like the most fucking awesome action figures EVER. I've forever had an attachment to Ghaleon. XD; So has Frankie, oddly. ;)
11. Who is the first BJD you ever fell in love with?
Ghaleon, kept under semi close surveillance by Batchix. Beyond that? Ane and Nathan. Two of her others. Of my own? Frankie. I adore her more than anything. Bats got me into this hobby and we've been close friends since before that. But Ghaleon will always have a special place in my heart as will Frankie. I don't think she could ever go anywhere, I'd be devastated.
12. What is the most you've spent on a doll (the actual doll itself)?
More than I care to think about, SOOM. (You'll see when it comes?) The rest of my ladies are fairly lower priced for the dolly community?
13. What is your favorite photoshoot/photo you ever took of any of your dolls?
Oh man. That's hard. I've done a TON. Photostory wise? Probably one Batchix, Mela and I did a long time back for Frankie's birthday (before Bats moved). Others include but are not limited too Mafi and the Terrible Horrible No Good Really bad Thing/ Pt2, Miles from Where you Are, Demo Arrives/Dealing with Daleks, Changes
Shoot wise?
Franks and Ghaleon in the Park (hell, anything with them really.), posessive streak, The Billie/Ten Regency shoot, Astrid and the Caroling Daleks and God more with Frankie than I think I have posted on LJ?
Most memorable PHOTO its not a good one either. Is the first one Bats and I took of Frankie and Ghaleon. It's the one that made us go "Oh. Well. I think they're more than just friends." Cuz Ghaleon looks TOTALLY pervy <3 and Frankie looks... like Frankie. <3
14. What is your funniest memory with any of your dolls?
Me and Bats, usually nerding out and making them do the weirdest things possible. The Frankie's Birthday Photostory with Bats and Mela (those slumber parties we used to have?! *Dies*)
Though, one I look back at is when Franks fell in the fountain and instead of using sheer logic? I called Bats in a panic going "OMG?! She's not broken just WET! WHAT DO I DO!?" and then giggling at my stupidity later. All we had to do was take her apart and let her dry out so her elastic didn't mildew. That was the last dolly freakout moment I had.
15. What is your saddest memory with any of your dolls?
That, I'm not sure I can share. But I know they've been there to comfort me through a lot as has my husband.
16. Have you ever had a dream about your doll? If so, what was it about?
I did have a freaky dream once. I think it was post Doll Master viewing (not a good film but giggle worthy)! I dreamt my dolls came alive to kill me...
17. Which BJD out of yours would you never sell in a million years?
I'm REALLY REALLY attached to my current "brood."
But I'll give you an order NEVER-to->ONLY IF I DESPERATELY HAVE TOO.

18. Name one thing that makes you erked in the BJD hobby.
I think I have one to many things to name? I'll try anyway.
People who freak out over yellowing - Our dolls are Resin which is a form of plastic. Over time it will naturally yellow no time of shoving a doll in a box OR keeping it out of sunlight will stop this (it CAN slow it but it won't STOP it), it's a chemical reaction within the content of the plastic. Now, I know some things have occurred with dolls turning "green" AGAIN, CONTENT OF THE CHEMICALS IN THE PLASTIC. Sunlight may SPEED the process but it does NOT CAUSE it.
Our dolls being a rather hard high density plastic makes them rather durable. Don't drop them on their fingers (you'll lose them) on a hard wood/concrete/tile floor. But if they fall over from standing? Chances are they aren't going to break the first time. By no means LET them fall but... really there's no reason to have the massive panic that people have. They're quite strong. Conversely, if they fall the WRONG way... you may have some trouble.
DollWank - Yes, it exists. It's COMPLETELY and UTTERLY stupid. I hate Who wank, I hate Doll wank more. Seriously? We're in this hobby to enjoy it. If that's how you get your rocks off? You best stay away from this LJ. I'll call you out on any of it. I don't put up with that shit. And NO I am not on Den of Demons, nor will I ever be. I won't join it for shear kicks, to find out if any of my dolls are on it, to defend others or for any other purposes. If I cannot tolerate the above? There's no way I'm going to go join a forum that promotes it.
That being said? Even if it's something as tiny as "OMG this faceup is disgusting!I can't believe they didn't send it off to an artist." I'll beat you over the head. It's better that someone TRY to ENJOY their dolls however they LIKE (including painting what may be a crappy faceup on it) than to do something they cannot afford nor may not like. You enjoy your dolls your way, I'll enjoy mine MY way.
Fraudulent sellers - It can be hard enough to trust people in this community sometimes. Don't make it worse. I've seen a it far too many times, I hate to know it still continues.
People who ask for customizing/sewing/dolly advice and then either throw it back in your face (cuz they were only looking for attention anyway) or don't listen too you because you aren't "active" on the forums as often as the people who have no fucking clue what they are doing. 1.) If someone who's dolls you LOOK AT in pictures has a good faceup that you have COMPLIMENTED and go "How do you do that?" You don't knock them for using pastels. If you like it? If it works? TRY IT before you go "Ugh! Pastels! Airbrush is better." Fucktardery will not be tolerated. Again, this is why I'm not active on the customizing/dolly forums very often. I know what I'm talking about, it's rare someone listens. You don't have to TAKE the advice, but acknowledge that you got it with at least a "Thanks, I'll look into it." or something. Don't just go "Well THIS person uses airbrush and that's WAY better than pastels!" Truth is? Everyone has different methods. They all work. But don't coat your doll with something other than the recommended products (My personal fave is MSC) and don't LEAVE them sitting in any of the chemicals we use to clean them. Plastic may take a ton to break but it doesn't take much to break down the chemical components that bind it together. Be intelligent.
Don't use oil based products on your dolls. This includes but is not limited too: Prismacolor pencils, turpentine, oilpaints etc.
Prismacolor watercolor pencils are JUST fine. :D
Idea theft- I don't tell people about my new dolls. Hardly ever. I have 3 people I can confide that in. I've had those ideas/names taken before. Not doing it again.

19. Would you ever consider "leaving" the hobby?
It's crossed my mind. I'd just leave the forums, not my dolls. I've got a close knit group of friends in the hobby but not FROM it (some are from it) I'll keep in touch with them, but I don't need to be on the forums/IN it all to enjoy it. Most of mine is contained to my LJ anymore XD; I'm still in/on DOA. I'm just a bit lazy with it, it's so HUGE now!
