Peoria

I think it's time for a Peoria entry!

Friday: Long drive there...we got there around 7ish, Central Time, so really it felt like 8. We got to our room to find a king size bed and nothing else. My dad gets angry and goes to the front desk to complain and he spots the Kraimers. We get the room worked out and then we all went out to eat.
Saturday: Woke up semi-early for Check in at the EastSide Center Sports Complex. It's soooo nice there, although it did remind me of a complex we played at a lot this year. Anyway, we checked in, got all our information and stuff and went back to the hotel. We met everyone there and had our "meeting" and handed stuff out. Later that day was Opening Ceromonies, filled with lots of pin trading and parading.
Sunday: The first game of the tournament. It wasn't until 2, but we had to go at like 11:30 to get our pictures taken 298374938 times. After all that we warm up, play game number one and win by slaughter rule. Woo, 1-0. That night we went to Kartville...basically a play with Go-Karts, mini golf, Dune Buggies, and Water Boats. Obviously, that held our attention pretty well. However, I had an incident that involved tripping and falling on my face after getting off the Dune Buggies...I have injuries to prove it too. =P
Monday: Second day of pool play. Early game at 9ish. We weren't really very focused at all, especially compared to the day before, but we still pull away with the win, 4-2. We had the rest of the day to do whatever we wanted, so I chilled outside with the parents for awhile, but heard the rest of the crew was at the pool. There was an intense game of KeepAway going on, boys vrs. girls. Even some of the marines at our hotel got involved =P Then the parents decide they want to go gambling at some of the waterside casinos nearby, so the kids go bowling instead. Bailey whooped us all in the first game and then in the second game I won =D Of course, when Lacey tries to throw gutter balls on purpose, she throws them in the wrong lane. Dork. =P
Tuesday: The first day of elimination play. We played some team that was staying in our hotel. They scored 4 runs before we even got up to bat, but we eventually beat them 6-5 after playing 2 innings of tiebreaker. The rest of the day we went to the waterpark. It wasn't really as exciting as we were hoping for. There was one slide that lasted like 20 seconds, this playhouse thing but it was made out of net so it hurt to walk on it, a pool, and a baby pool. We were gonna stay there the rest fo the day, but it barely held our attention for an hour, so we went back to the hotel and swam in the pool there. Then later that night was pin trading night. I got rid of all of them...there were some pretty cool ones too, but not much compared to last year. After that I was dead tired. The rest of the team went to the pool I think, but I definitely just crashed.
Wednesday: Not our day at all. We woke up for a 10:40 game vrs the Sidewinders. They beat us 2-1 I think, so we dropped into the Losers Bracket which esentially means, you lose another game and you're done. We had another game at 5. And for some reason we just really couldnt get a hit, and we lost again. So we were eliminated from the whole thing which really sucked because we finished first in our pool and went undefeated for 3 games and in one day, lost it all. It sucks even more because the team we beat on Monday is in the finals right now. Blah. Pretty much everyone was crying. I dont know if it was becuase they were upset we lost, upset cause the season was over, upset cause they thought it was their fault or what, but everyone was. We made our way back to the hotel and had another cookout on the patio and stuff. Lacey, Marcy, and I chilled in Laceys room for awhile. Then Lacey and Marcy both fell asleep so I went to the patio again and Mary and I went up to Kim's room for the mini-party, but I only stayed 5 minutes. Then I went back to my room for one last sleep in the King Size bed.
Thursday: Woke up pretty early for check out and the majority of the ride home. Long and boring ride. We stopped in Pittsburgh, my dad's hometown. Mary, Becky, Lacey, and Kellie all stopped at the same hotel. We went to Cracker Barrel for dinner and then had a sleepover in Mary's extra room. (Her dad owns the hotel so we got cookies and popcorn and soda and stuff...it was pretty cool) We watched Mean Girls, part of Red Dragon (sequel to Hannibal), and part of 8 Mile before we finally fell asleep around 3:30.
Today: Around 8ish, Mary's mom woke us up and we all departed for home. Since my dad lived in Pittsburgh for so long, we made some pit-stops along the way. We went to the cemetary where my Grandma is...it was sad, but she died when I was 2 so I never knew her. We went to a few stores and stuff to get some entertainment for the rest of the ride home. Then we drove 4 more hours and now I'm finally home.
