a shattered dream

Every time I tried to write about No Fate Con's cancellation, I failed miserably. My words were too personal, too emotional and I'd say things I shouldn't say. But not posting about it has kept me from posting anything else - I've felt like I couldn't move on without closing out that chapter. So I'm finally closing it:

"When there are things to ( Read more... )

Why are you still talking cons?

a meet up isn't a con ...

It's in the title.

You get people together in one place and you interact, that is it.

You've done research for two years?

I've done research for a month and learned from talking with four planners (One star trek, two a song of Ice and fire, and one supernatural) that it will never work when you go for the big things first. *Cough*guests*cough*

You always start small, and somewhere accessible, you let the word of mouth of the gathering grow, then you organize into something with guests and pannels.

That's how it starts, that's what it takes.

There are new TSCC fans every day ... why are you so hell bent on going bankrupt when you don't even have a consistant base of attendence?

things like these take time.

A meet up.

Hotel/Conference room (Fan Panels ... or even just a screening of an episode, with a discussion after word.)

Restaurant

that's all it has to start with.

I'm sorry, I forgot I was talking to the Man That Knows All. My bad. You're right. Absolutely right.

I so silly and stoopid.

Later man.

My god ...

Can you be just a little more immature?

I swear I've never met you before in my life and I feel like we've been married thirty years.

Is there any point where we can have one civil conversation without you getting frustrated at nothing and storming away?

I don't know everything ... in fact I don't know alot of things about putting on a Fandom get together.

But I have common sense enough to know that going to LA and hiring guests will result in the same problems as last time.

If you want this to stick you have to be practicle about the people who are coming to this. That money saved up to go to LA for the Con is gone now.

So you cut LA out because it now has to be accessible to everyone which means cheap!

That's all I'm saying.

That's all I've been saying for months.

And I'm sure it's fallen on deaf ears.

What are you talking about? Are you talking about Roxy and the few others that are planning to meet up? From my understanding it's a group of people that are deciding amongst themselves to meet somewhere at some time and if other people want to join them, great. If not, oh well. It's not some big thing. Just a meet up. If they want to go and do it, what's the problem? If they want to fly out to LA, what's it to you?

If you want a fan meetup somewhere else, plan one.

*I* personally in my earlier comments was talking about the con. If you're talking about the potential fan meet-up then obviously we weren't on the same wavelength.

It's funny because I was informed in other places that if anyone had a good Idea for a meet up that we were too come up with one.

But if you're dead set on going to LA ... than by all means go, no ones stoping you. It sounds fun, take pictures.

As for starting a fan meet up.

It sounds interesting ... I can see how to begin one. There's a idea or two floating around different channels about it.

Though to be honest I was hoping that I was just spit balling ideas for everyone at SavetheSCC.

Oh well ... I'm getting off topic.

As for the wavelength ...

It's an informed opinion after four years that we've never been on the same wavelength ... ever.

Which is why we fight all the time.

I'm sure this arguement is going to be deleted or Roxy will confirm which way it goes to at least one of us hopefully.

If not ...

You're always a pleasure, ma'am

I think Schmacky covered most of what I'd say, but I'll jump in anyway ( ... )
