a shattered dream

Every time I tried to write about No Fate Con's cancellation, I failed miserably. My words were too personal, too emotional and I'd say things I shouldn't say. But not posting about it has kept me from posting anything else - I've felt like I couldn't move on without closing out that chapter. So I'm finally closing it:

"When there are things to ( Read more... )

Like I said on twitter, I'm really sorry it didn't work out Rox ...

That being said ... I feel I would be admiss not to point this out.

But having the beat of many of the fans who I've talked too, going to LA was the main reason people were not going to come, and two, because being in LA was very Expansive to begin with.

Like I've said on the chat at the Viewing parties. Somewhere in the middle of the country or somewhere cheap in general. (New Mexico, Lawerence Kansas), that's relivent to the show is where you need to start out.

Look, you're going to do what you do, and that's fine ... and I don't wish you or anyone ill ...

But going to L.A. in my opinion and others is a mistake this first get together. Let the trip to L.A. build up, as the attendence of the get togethers.

That's my advice, because whether you believed it or not it hurt to see everyone who worked so hard not only to keep the fandom relevent, but keep it together have everything crumble.

and I really don't want to see anyone in the fandom fail again. So just play it safe for now.

PS. I've been quietly working on an idea for the Meet up, and researching some get togethers that Supernatural fans do.

If your interested you know how to get in contact with me ... if not.

Please at least think on what I've said ...

or not.

Haroo.

The price to fly out any potential guests to go to the middle of the country would be far more expensive than anything saved by costs of venues.

When the fans put their two cents in, I think that's the main thing they either forget to take into account or don't realize how expensive it adds up to do that.

Except the whole point of a "Fan Gathering" is for fans to attend the meet up and talk about the show and interact with eachother.

Guests come later ...

One step at a time.

You do realize that if it was just a fan gathering without any guests there wouldn't be enough attendance to cover just the venue alone, right? If you don't, well... I can't help you there. But either way, you go two years of research and then get back to me and tell me how it is and how it should be.
