a shattered dream

Every time I tried to write about No Fate Con's cancellation, I failed miserably. My words were too personal, too emotional and I'd say things I shouldn't say. But not posting about it has kept me from posting anything else - I've felt like I couldn't move on without closing out that chapter. So I'm finally closing it:

"When there are things to ( Read more... )

I'm glad you started your rewatch. I haven't yet.. I'm not quite there yet. Still at the "disliking of the fandom" part. I'm thinking late spring I'll start it and rediscover my love for that show. Maybe even be all sadly poetic and start the rewatch the weekend of what would have been the con.

I'm up to The Mousetrap on my rematch. I tell ya, it's weird going straight from season 1 into season 2. The tonal shift and change in the overall look of the show is so much more noticeable. I almost stopped during S&D because of it, but I kept going and I'm going to keep going straight through. This will actually be my first time ever rewatching the whole thing in order since the original airing! I'm sure I'll have some TSCC thoughts to post as I go along.

Yeah, disliking the fandom... I actually do like most of the TSCC fans, but I think like I was watching a different show that most of them ;)

That sadly poetic idea of rewatching on the former No Fate Con weekend isn't a bad idea. Maybe I'll watch it again then too.

When I do my rewatch though, I really do want to do a podcast of it with several people old and new to the show.. sadly there just doesn't seem to be interest in that sort of thing with this fandom. But, maybe that's more of a reason why I need to watch it all on my own. Without fandomness.

Did you ever do a podcast discussion about Derek? While going through season 1, I was reminded just how much he fucked things up and I thought that was a topic you'd wanted to do before. Could be a good one to do if you didn't yet.

If you decide to do some discussion podcasts again, you know I'm always game if you need a TSCC veteran. There seems to be plenty of fresh meat out there, you probably just need to figure out where they lurk so you can lure them in. I'm sure some of them would love to talk about the show.

I guess that's the hardest part. I know people are watching the show, but finding them can be difficult. I don't frequent the wikis anymore (craziness, I know!) and there's not really a place where fans hang out anymore. If you ever run across a fresh viewer, send 'em my way! And of course, if I ever do them, I'll definitely be asking you to participate :)
