iTunes *really* wants me to have the Warehouse 13 pilot

Nov 12, 2010 05:18

Back when Warehouse 13 premiered (July '09?), they offered a free HD copy of the pilot on iTunes and I added it to my cart. My recollection is that I started the download, but it was over 2gigs and very slow, so I killed the download and deleted it. Since then, every time I buy anything, iTunes starts downloading that damn Warehouse 13 pilot again ( Read more... )

wtf?, tv, sci-fi, technology, quantum mechanics

Maybe you should just give in gracefully and download the damn thing? Then delete it and rest easy.

In totally (un)related topics beginning with i - this site made me laugh so hard today I had to stop reading it: http://damnyouautocorrect.com/
I think I want an iphone now just so I can experience the fail.

I think I want me to have one, loads have them at work and they seem pretty good at filling in the (little) downtime we get (i.e. the odd hour sitting and waiting for the police to show up before we go to an idiot!)

That site just made me roll. I especially loved the casual replacement of "fellatio" for "gellato" :-)

YES I had that same problem with Parks and Recreation. Every.FLipping.Time I opened Itunes it would start. I think I finally got rid of it some how I'm not sure how. but it was like the terminator It kept coming back!

/me is very proud of herself for making that into a Termie reference.

That gives me hope that one day I'll figure out how to get rid of it.

You definitely get a merit for making a Terminator reference. I can't believe I didn't think to go there... That Warehouse 13 pilot can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with... It doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, EVER!

I have the same issue with podcasts. possible a subscription thing? or some setting where it thinks you mean to dl it. *shrugs*

That’s really weird, you could try, Edit-Preferences-Store, then un tick “Automatically check for available downloads,” that might stop it.

That would stop it from downloading automatically, but then I'd have to manually initiate any podcast downloads and stuff like that that I actually want to download automatically. One day I'll figure this out!

Even downloading it doesn't get rid of it? Damn. This is starting to sound less like a free gift and more like some sort of determined malware that's stalking you.

Have you tried removing it from your queue? (Or however it works with iTunes.)

There used to be a shopping cart, but somewhere along the way, an iTunes update switched the "shopping cart" to a "wish list". If I got to my wish list, there's no Warehouse 13 pilot shown, so the only way I can't find anywhere to prevent it from downloading. It total is stalking me!
