post-long weekend letdown

it is so, so, so difficult to come out of a three day weekend in which my major goals were to eat pumpkin pie and sleep in. i am tired, a bit cranky, and completely anti-social. i am typing this with one of my favourite coworkers nearby and yet i am not keeping up a conversation with her. she is a huge fan of autumnal foods, too, so we could be spending this time talking about stuffing and apples. instead, i write here in silence. i am such a monk.

yesterday we packed up the car and headed to TSM's parents for Second Thanksgiving. unlike my family, where there is just enough food for one helping and hardly any leftovers at all, his mom lives up to the Mom Stereotype and goes krazy (note: that's with a "k" on purpose) with the kooking ("k" again! that's how krazy it was). we had so much food, like four different types of pie, and VEGETARIAN STUFFING, that she actually forgot to put out the turnips! that was the big, salacious revelation of the evening. it was a lot of fun to hang out with Bubba, too, whom i love more and more everytime i see him. he has such a sweet personality. y'know how sometimes puppies can get annoying with their hyperactivity? well he is the perfect balance between hyperactivity and laziness. ha, kind of like me! he never becomes overbearing. although when i cuddle with him on the ground, he always goes straight for my crotch. what a lothario. but he's the best and i want to steal him. help me create a master plan to do this.

i think i am so kranky because i have a busy week ahead and i won't see much of TSM because of his internship. tonight he's at it, so it'll just be me and snugs for dinner (Thanksgiving leftovers, which is a delectable consolation)(plus Gilmore Girls is on too! i am feeling a bit better now). tomorrow night i've got yoga, so i won't see him until late. thursday i'm at Congress 'til 10 or so, and then friday he might work at his internship again at night. on saturday, i'm at Congress from 8 am to 9 pm. on sunday, i plan to hide under my covers and never come out.

to kombat the krankiness (i am not letting go of the "k" today), i will now compose a list of good things in spirit of continuing the good cheer of thanksgiving:
- broccoli salad. my reputation as a drunkard is only superceded by my reputation as a fiend for this salad.
- over the weekend, i made sure to have a blanket covering me at all times (lounging is best when the body is covered) and snugs has made a little nest for herself with it. oh man, the cuteness of a cat's nest bed.
- the buffalo news is calling for a sprinkling of snow near the end of the week. so this is not the best of news, but the first snowfall is so magical and exciting. the second snowfall and every one thereafter sucks the big one.
- this afternoon for work, i get to go shopping for junk food. that is kind of fun.

that is all i can think of. what i needs is the latest issue of Glamour magazine, a large cup of coffee, and some pyjama pants. this is what i crave.

weekend, work, lists, bubba!
