details, details

i think today is the one year anniversary of my working here. i say this because i remember starting at the very end of september and it was a coworker's birthday that day, so i got to eat a free cinnamon bun. that memory will forever be with me. today we are celebrating her birthday again. i am also working on nametags that i remember working on last year. and so begins the point in my career where i will experience perpetual deja vu.

get the gun.

on my lunchbreak i ran a few errands. i went to the postoffice to send off a package (hot), then to the bank to cash TSM's cheque for rent, glanced momentarily at my hefty bank account, and remembered that it will last until all of tomorrow when the rent is due. then i went to shoppers and bought some nut and honey lotion on sale (nice) and purchased a few Halloween items for elaine, the friend of vanessa's we stayed with in scotland who is obsessed with halloween. i don't think halloween is as big over there as it is here, so i've kept her in the back of my mind ever since all of the decorations started appearing in stores. she is particularly obsessed with witches, so i am constantly looking for witch-themed items. let me just say that there is a lot of shitty stuff out there with witches on it. i managed to pick up some tasteful, witch-themed socks though. can "tasteful" and "witch-themed" belong in the same sentence?

tonight we're off to vanessa's to help her move. it is not so bad though because:
- i get to see her cat
- i get to see her
- afterwards, she has alluded to an outing to starby's. i am holding her to that.

i just noticed that i put her cat before her. i am a very kind friend.

tomorrow it's off to st.catharines where i am lunching (yes, lunching) with the ladies of the family and avoiding the grape and wine parade. on sunday it's off to orangeville for a visit with TSM's family where i will undoubtedly experience a barrage of teasing due to my incident with the wine last weekend. TSM's brother is one of those types who will not let you forget anything. last time i answered the phone, he said "how are you, moonshine?". it may be a long day.

but that's my weekend. what are you doing?

weekend
