this weekend was a great one. very summery, full of barbecued foods and sunshine, and now all i want to do is veg on the couch. it is raining and thundering right now, too, so this makes the couch all the more appealing. i would like to bake tonight, because the blueberry scones i made on friday are now all gone (i had made 16!) because TSM and his manly man friends spent saturday night getting drunk, playing vids, and eating scones. apparently, they are as wild and crazy as i am. maybe i will stop at the store and get the ingredients to make those cherry almond muffins. humina.
i caught a ride with my bro's girlfriend on the way back to toronto last night. she and D (my brother) are in a long distance relationship and she lives in a one-bedroom basement apartment here in toronto. we have always got along and i knew she was crafty and a knitter, but i had never really sat down and had a long discussion with her. well the 1.5 hour car ride changed that. we had an awesome conversation. i was surprised how easy it was to hold a conversation. we talked a lot about our jobs (she is an office bitch too!), about crafts, about D's colitis, about housing costs in toronto (a favourite topic for torontonians), and about blogs. she totally knows i have this livejournal, but i am hesitant to send her a link. she would see a (crazy, scone-obsessed, swear-filled) side of me that she hasn't seen before. should i let her in? this morning she sent me an email full of her favourite time wasters, and one of them is this great blog called
http://www.crazyauntpurl.com/. it's written by a self-described 30-something knitting obsessed divorcee with four cats who lives in the san fernando valley. i've only read a few of her entries and her "about me" section and already i'm hooked. i predict she will be the next person i blogstalk (in which i will read EVERY SINGLE ENTRY that person has ever written).
aside from that, i spent saturday night with friends where we collectively read a Cosmo magazine and ate lots of fruit and this great dip made by the talented
trinity899. WE SO CRAZIES. it was a lot of fun, though. we have all these ideas of hangouts that involve food. one idea i have is that once i am done paying back my student loan, i'd like to spend the money i'd usually pay towards my montly payment on the ultimate girls night/innies only night. i could make a dinner using really fancy foods, and give little gift bags, and rent lots of movie and have delectable snacks. another idea is that once every few months, one person could choose an extensive menu and then assign one recipe for each person, so it's like a potluck but the food is all coordinated. what an awesome idea! i hope we pursue this.
also, i got comfy sandals for Prague. the countdown stands at: 10 days. shizzle fizzle my crizzle! i have no idea what that is even supposed to mean.
i hope emily is doing well! i want to know her baby's name. maybe it's Ty? that would be funny.
