first of all, i just want to note that i am feeling attractive today. this doesn't happen a lot, especially since i've got pilgrim-hair, so i want to document it. i am wearing my hair down and it's almost past my shoulders now. it is light brown with dark brown roots (pilgrims don't have roots, do they?) and my bangs are actually flat and not ( Read more... )

Paul hides chocolate from me all the time because if I find it, I will eat all of it. It was especially tricky while I was dieting.

I ironed last night too! Two blouse. Personally I really LOVE ironing (its zen to me) but I come from what I call "ironing stock". Both my mom and grandma are crazy about ironing or what they call "pressing". My grandma used to iron shoe laces and my grandpa's boxer shorts back in the day. And people wonder why there's OCD in my family?

wow, shoe laces? that is hardcore. i can see the allure of ironing. it's a very calming motion and the results are enjoyable (no wrinkles!). i can see myself doing it more and more. i think my resistance stems from the fact that growing up, my mom wouldn't let us get clothes that required ironing because she hated doing it. i figured if she hated it, i would hate it, too. the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

my grandma was a little insane in her younger days - she's mellowed more now but she still washes and irons my mom's table linens.

My mom is that way too. I'm even that way to a certain extent: "Why iron? It's just going to get wrinkled by the time I get where ever it is I'm going." Though if something is really bad I do iron it.

My gram is crazy about ironing, though not as hardcore as shoelaces. She does iron underwear though, and everything she irons is perfect. She's old school like that.

I love reading your entries...even if you're just talking about cheese and magazines, it always makes me happy :)

Also, my mom bought my father's day gift for me yesterday...so i know how you feel. he's getting a fancy tape measure and a home depot gift card. i did pick out his father's day card though, so i get some points for originality.

well i am here to entertain! i am also available for weddings and bar mitzvahs.

i think i will be getting my dad a push broom for the garage (how sentimental) but maybe i can make him his favourite dessert, too, which would be, without a doubt, bread pudding.

i am making a peanut butter pie, which involves cream cheese and peanut butter and i think whipped cream, in a chocolate pie shell.

decadence.

I love thin days!

also, I am always in shock that people just DON'T iron. I mean, what happens if your clothes are wrinkly?! most of my pants are wrinkly when they come from the dryer, I don't think I could ever wear them that way.

can you tell I'm an ocd ironer? I love ironing!

i am so hot and sexxy that i just wear my clothes while they are still wrinkly. sometimes i try to take the wrinkles out by flattening the material with my hands.

i've said it before and i'll say it again: i am awesome at life.

I loathe ironing. And my mom never really showed me how, so I always feel like I'm doing it the wrong way.

Most of my clothes are just fine coming out of the dryer. As long as they get hung up immediately, they're okay. If they get wrinkly again, I throw them back in with a wet towel or spritz them with a water bottle and they're okay after a few minutes.

I do have to say that one of the small joys in my life is getting stuff back from the cleaners and having it all pressed and nice looking.

yeah, folding it right after taking it out of the dryer is a good antidote to wrinkles.
