Here, I've shared this with many people, but I shall share it with more: my favourite poem.
open your heart:
i'll give you a treasure
of tiniest world
a piece of forever with
summitless younger than
angels are mountains
rivery forests
towerful towns (queen
poet king float
sprout heroes of moonstar
flutter to and
swim blossoms of person) through
musical shadows while hunted
by daemons
see the luminous
leopards (on wingfeet of thingfear)
come ships go
snowily sailing
perfect silence.
Absolute ocean
(e. e. cummings)
Now, I will be embarking on a journey: a 5000 question survey, to be done in 50 question instalments (to either replace or supplement my normal entries). I would like to invite all of you to join me, avoiding one word answers where possible. Elaborate on as much as you may, and share a piece of your soul. :)
The first 50 questions are under the cut.
1. Who are you?
A girl in search of the grandest things life has to offer.
2. What are the 3 most important things everyone should know about you?
-I know more than I let on.
-No matter what face I put on, I am lonely and in search of someone to
wholly confide in.
-I am a sucker for the little pleasures of life.
3. When you aren't filling out 5,000 question surveys like this one what are you doing?
I spend a great deal of my time procrastinating or (unfortunately) doing
schoolwork. When I have free (truly free) time, I will usually do something
artistic, such as read, write, or draw, or just sit and enjoy the fact that I have
some free time.
4. List your classes in school from the ones you like the most to the ones you like the least (or if you are out of school, think of the classes you did like and didn't like at the time).
English
Art
Latin
World History
Livefit
Chemistry
Biology
Math
5. What is your biggest goal for this year?
To enjoy myself, no matter what life throws at me.
6. Where do you want to be in 5 years?
In five years I either want to be finishing up my undergrad at U of W or
teaching in Japan as a part of the JET program.
7. What stage of life are you in right now?
The transition stage.
8. Are you more child-like or childish?
Child-like.
9. What is the last thing you said out loud?
I’m always whispering to myself, but, excluding that, it would be “Forget it.”
10. What song comes closest to how you feel about your life right now?
I’ve always been able to relate to Art of Life by X-Japan - it’s so epic, no
matter what stage of my life I’m in, there will be a part of it that will mirror
my outlook on life.
11. Have you ever taken martial arts classes?
Yes, I attained a green belt in karate, though unfortunately I have yet to
progress any farther than that.
12. Does your life tend to get better or worse or does it just stay the same?
On a large scale, my life has been rapidly improving. On an average scale, it
has stayed the same, as I have my share of ups and downs. On a small scale,
my life is getting worse by the minute.
13. Does time really heal all wounds?
No, time sets all wounds to rest, but there are some that can never be healed.
14. How do you handle a rainy day?
I love rainy days, they infuse me with renewed spirit. I may simply stay inside
and read with my window open (so as to enjoy the crisp air), or I may go for
a walk - I’ve been known to imitate Gene Kelly, dancing and singing out loud,
no matter who is there to see me :)
15. Which is worse...losing your luggage or having to sort out tangled holiday lights?
Losing your luggage, by a long shot. Tangled holiday lights are known to have
a solution (after all, if you can tangle something, you can untangle
something), but when you lose your luggage, you never know if it will return
to you or in what condition, and you have to deal with its absence in the
meantime.
16. How is your relationship with your parents?
Exceptionally good for someone my age, I believe, although there is still room
for improvement.
Will you miss them when they are gone?
Incredibly.
17. Do you tend to be aware of what is going on around you?
At times. I may completely space out and be unaware of someone even if
they are talking directly to me, or I may be very observant, noticing things
that others do not - it all depends on my mood.
18. What is the truest thing that you know?
That the spirit will never die if you do not let it.
19. What did you want to be when you grew up?
In chronological order: a ballerina, a figure skater, a donut shop owner, a
veterinarian, a lawyer, a psychiatrist.
20. Have you ever been given a second chance?
Not when it matters - but then again, I have never blown my first chance
when it matters.
21. Are you more of a giver or a taker?
Both, depending.
22. Do you make your decisions with an open heart/mind?
I try to. With an open mind, all the time. With an open heart? Up to a point.
23. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?
When a boy tripped me in the second grade, and I landed chin first on the
pavement, splitting my chin open. At home, because I didn’t want to have
stitches, my mother had to stuff the exuding tissues back into my chin, hold
the wound shut and seal it with a tape to replace stitches that she had
purchased. She told me I never even cried.
24. What is the most emotionally painful thing that has ever happened to you?
Something that I have yet to talk about freely. It happened on my birthday,
hence my dread for the 26th of Feb. every year.
25. Who have you hugged today?
My mother, Mike, Natalie, Rojin, Divya, Noor, Kathleen, Ashlyn, Cassandra,
and probably tons of other people I cannot remember at the moment.
26. Who has done something today to show they care about you?
All who have hugged me (see above) and my dearest Felix, who always
shows that he cares about me.
27. Do you have a lot to learn?
Yes, I will always have a lot to learn.
28. If you could learn how to do three things just by wishing and not by working what would they be?
A Speak fluently in foreign languages.
B Learn the trades of old (weaving, metal-working, glass-working, rope-making, etc.).
C Understand the human psyche.
29. Which do you remember the longest: what other people say, what other people do or how other people make you feel?
How other people make me feel.
30. What are the key ingredients to having a good relationship?
Trust, respect and open-mindedness.
31. What 3 things do you want to do before you die?
A Travel the world.
B Try extreme sports (sky-diving, rock climbing, spelunking, etc.).
C Go to “outer space.”
32. What three things would you want to die to avoid doing?
A Having sexual intercourse against my will.
B Killing innocent persons.
C Hurting an animal or a child.
33. Is there a cause you believe in more than any other cause?
I believe that there is no greater crime than hurting a child, and any and
every person convicted of doing so should be forced to experience, on the
receiving end, all that he or she did to that child, tenfold, before being put to
death.

The 1990s because of all of the television shows I used to watch. :)

every Elton John song there is.
37. What country do you live in and who is the leader of that country?
Canada, Paul Martin.
If you could say any sentence to the current leader of your country what would it be?
“Do not let Harper get any more power than he already has.”
38. What's your favorite TV channel to watch in the middle of the night?
The movie channels.
39. What Disney villain are you the most like and why?

either.
40. Have you ever been a girl scout/boy scout?
No.
41. If you were traveling to another continent would you rather fly or take a boat?

No, I can’t say that I have.
-roxy
