[The only reason the communicator turned on is because the video button was SMASHED against the wall when Toph threw the communicator. It falls just right so that it's angled to just barely see Yoh hanging from the ceiling an most of Toph's upper half. Her head is cast down. She looks to be mumbling to herself, growling slightly in disgust

[He ran into the building breathlessly. A sad, sad look on his face. As soon as he had seen Yoh's post, he had run as fast as he could to Horton. Now that he was there though, he had no idea what to do.]

[Layton looked from the girl huddled in his arms over to Sokka, keeping his voice quiet.]

[She had no attachment to the ground at all, now. She didn't even hear Sokka come running down the hall she was so upset. Keeping her face burried into layton, the fought back the tears that were dried by his clothes. This was undignified, but she couldn't help it.

Then she heard Sokka say her name, and at Layton's question nodded to verify his answer.]

[Sokka just stared. He had never seen Toph so upset before. He couldn't even guess at how she must have felt at that moment.]

[He wanted to tell her it wasn't her fault. But he knew that wouldn't help. It wouldn't help at all.]

Y-yea I'm her friend. [A friend who couldn't do anything to help the people he cared about.]

[Jackie headed out of his room a few moments after the death had been broadcasted. He searched the hallways til he spotted them - not that it was hard to - and approached slowly, blanked out. Blood had long since ceased to bother him - it felt like a while, maybe, since he'd seen a body, but a few weeks couldn't counteract a lifetime - but Toph is only a child. Younger than he was, maybe.

He recognizes Layton, holding her; the body is unknown to him. He skirts around them to examine the spike that's holding the boy up.]

[At Jackie's arrival, Layton was glad he was there, and nodded in acknowledgement, but at the same time... just how many people was this scene going to attract?]

Perhaps you know what to say better than I do.

[At least, he hoped that was the case. He turned his attention back to her, cuddling her closer and made soft noises he hoped were comforting under his breath.]
