The Richmond Legacy: New Legacy House Tour!

Apr 11, 2010 12:35

 Hey everyone! So guess what? The house is finally finished!!! I spent most of last weekend and half of this one working on it, and it's officially done!!! Are you ready to see it? Well let's get going!

The Richmond Legacy: New Legacy House Tour

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before.....
... and After!!!!
Here's a close-up of just the house. I guess the outside's hard to see because it's in shadow. I'll try to take a morning picture for you and put it in the next chapter :) The outside is either green siding, or in places, grey stone.
And this is the lovely garage!
We'll go around the outside of the house first, then I'll show you the inside.
I love the side of the garage. The vines on the wall were downloaded from PSMBD, which is where I got most of my CC. For some reason all the objects will work, but none of the hairstyles. :\
Behind the garage is a pond for our resident fisherwoman, Julianna, and anyone else who wants to try.
Then we have the playground!
I figured it was high time our legacy children got to enjoy such a playground.
Beyond that is the garden.
This cute little thing was included in the set with the wall ivy. Sims can't go inside it, but it's cute-looking anyway right?
This is the "regular" section...
... and this is the "foreign" section. Right now it's devoted to the grapevines we are still growing from Hope and her parents' vacation to France. We're not getting very far in the winemaking department though. There's too much else to do!
Beyond that, is the pool, another new addition :D As well as the graveyard, which is much smaller and more cozy feeling.
Views of the outside of the actual house!
To the right of the front...
The back...
To the left of the front....
Well we've seen the outside... Let's go in, shall we?
Right when you walk in there's this hallway. The stairs on the left lead down to the basement (that's the one part this tour won't show, as I dismantled the basement when I thought I was going to redo it, and then I decided to leave it the same but I was too lazy to put all the collected items and such back in.) The stairs on the right lead to the second floor.
If you're looking at the front door from inside the hallway, you'll see two archways leading in different directions. The one on the left in this picture leads to the living room. The one on the right...
leads to the kitchen!
I decided since our heiress wants to become a five-star chef, she should have a five-star kitchen! I spent forever on this room, especially because every time my game crashed it was while I was working on this room, and I had to start from scratch three times.
But I'm really proud of it! It has a cute little island,
and an eating area, complete with baby high chair and the family's fanciest stereo,
and the good ol' electric fireplace!
Another view of the kitchen. We'll get to that archway in a minute.
First here's the view of the main cooking area! I love the two stoves :) And all the paintings in this room are done by someone in the family!
Back to the archway. It leads to the study!
....
Two of the family's computers live here, as well as two open desks for doing homework.
There are screened partitions separating this area from
the reading area! I love this spot. It's so warm and comfortable :)
We've now got three floor-to-ceiling bookshelves! And a nice stereo to add calming music.
That archway to the green room, I will get to in a moment.
First let's see the art room!
I have one of these rooms in every house, I know. But it's the Richmond legacy! Every one of our sims is artistic, aside from spouses. They need a great place to do their painting.
This room has a fabulous view of the backyard and the ocean beyond. On the far right you'll see an archway leading to the back porch. But first I want to show you...
The green room! I don't know what else to call it. But isn't it beautiful??
There is lots of comfortable seating,
and plenty of plants to add to the mood.
Everything in this room is custom content except the lights, the arches, and the paintings.
The arch on the left leads to the front hallway!
The green room's three main arches lead to this: the back deck. It's inspired by a deck we had when I was little. I love the tree growing out of the middle.
There's a toybox and a chess table. (By the way those huge things in front of the windows? They're lamps. They're there because those windows lead to the main downstairs bathroom. Privacy can sometimes be nice ;).)
As well as a fire pit and a grill.
And we couldn't forget Jay's favorite eating spot, the outdoor table!
Next to the grill, the sliding glass doors lead to the exercise room.
There's the martial arts stuff,
and of course the treadmill! And this archway...
leads to the family room! Foosball and a stereo,
and a lovely little TV area. If you couldn't tell - this room is beach-themed :D
There's plenty for the kids to do.
The three doors in this room: The left one leads to the deck, the archway in the middle leads back to the exercise room, and the right one leads to
this bathroom. Not much to see.
Anyway, back to the entertainment  room. There is a dresser and mirror for birthdays when kids need an immediate makeover. Especially when they're toddlers and they can't climb the stairs themselves.
Next to the mirror is an arch leading to the living room!
The old couch and chairs have been put here - some of the only things I saved from the old house.
...
I love the fireplace <3
Then there's this little office-y area, and you can see the archway at the end leads back to the front hall.
This bathroom is on the other side of the bookcase in the living room.
I love this custom sink!
And here, ladies and gentlemen, is the main bathroom! It's hard to describe it's location in relation to everything else... There are top down views at the end, that will help.
I love doing this, because then someone can be using the toilet while someone else is showering or bathing, and they don't get mad or 'embarrassed'!
Not much to see here.
Or here for that matter.
As I said, these stairs lead to the basement. I won't show it because it's virtually empty at the moment, and we're quite low on cash. When I get more money I'll remodel it and then I'll show it to you.
But let's go upstairs! (By the way - that door leads to the family room).
The upstairs hallway is huge and rambling and virtually empty.
Most of the rooms upstairs look like this one. There are, in fact, six of these empty blue rooms.
They all have attached empty blue bathrooms.
One of the three rooms upstairs that isn't empty is this one! The nursery <3
There are three cribs, at least for now.
A custom play table and custom potty chairs!!!
Honestly I'm not so sure about the yellow walls. What do you think?
The door near the Elmo picture leads to this! The master bedroom.
I love the Chinese theme. And somehow I decided it was a good idea to put that picture right there... Now watch as Sydney wakes up in the middle of the night to give birth, and that picture stares at me the whole time again! It happened at least twice with Hope. :\
I won't make the mistake of putting a computer in this room like there was in the last house. Ghosts come in and play on it all night. But the desk looks nice anyway, yes? :)
The dresser and a nice plant. The door on the left leads to the hallway. On the right, the nursery.
Somehow I skipped the pictures of the bathrooms! Dang. But this is the grandparents' room!
I love the soft, calming color.
Old-fashioned furniture for old-fashioned sims :)
That door leads to the grandparents' small, private deck. I'm not exactly certain if they'll be able to get on those recliners, but we'll see :)
Like I said, for some reason I forgot to take pictures of the bathrooms. But here's the top-down view of the lower floor.
And here's the upper floor! Crazy number of bedrooms, huh? There's six, to be exact :) I know this generation will absolutely not have six kids, but it's happened before and will probably happen again, so I want to be prepared.
Well, that's all folks! I really hope you like the house, because it took me forever! I'm really proud of it :) Any comments are much appreciated! Tell me what you think, what your favorite room is, if you like the nursery or not (I'm still not sure...), how many kids you want to see this generation... whatever! And next chapter, we'll start generation 5!!! Thanks for reading! :D
